I haven't been on the site much lately cause I've been spending all my "free time" building a pair of restaurant booths for a local bar. Restaurant Booth Project | Firewood Hoarders Club

It's not a very big payday for me compared to my investment in time and materials. But I see it as a huge advertising opportunity for my woodworking skills. So I'd like to do something a little fancier than just burning my initials into it.

I'm not very good at original graphic artwork, but I am quite good at duplicating it. This is where the help wanted part comes in. I have a few ideas about what I want; and if someone here could turn it into a logo I'm satisfied with I would pay for such a service.

    • Cutting Edge Creations
    • by Shawn Curry
    • Logo will be applied with woodburning pen, so it only needs to be black and white
    • Would be cool if the C's looked like table saw blades (teeth facing to the right)
    Thanks,
    Shawn.

Maybe " Curry Creations", with the sawblace "C's"?

Awesome, thanks Scotty! I've gone back and forth in my mind over whether to have my name, in the name. I definitely want my name on there somewhere, but for some reason it sounds a little goofy to me having it in the title.

How about, "Shawn's Specialty Saw Services and Cutting Edge Custom Creations". :D Scotty, you can fit that all into the logo right?

Actually, I do kind of like "Curry's Custom Creations". So you guys definitely think I should have my name in the title then?

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

I'll throw my .02 in here. These are just observations of what I have researched.

I think a small business name depends on your market. Easy name recognition is huge if you are going to sell online.

If you are selling locally to customers in your area, geographical locations in your business name can help for the "shop local" thing. When I shop locally, at shows or in shops, local names are easy to identify with. I tend to buy from the local small business. Is your property an old farm or in a historical part of town?

Try to keep the name not to "kampy". Your work is excellent and the name should reflect it.

If you would like a forged branding iron to burn your mark into a finished piece, I can help you with that too. No charge, I would be glad to help out.

    Curry's Custom Woodworking

    The plane's edge woodworking

    Again, just my .02.

What ever design you come up with I would be glad to have my wife take a look at it to critique for readability. She is a graphic artist/designer for Amway. She has been there for 38? years and they haven't fired her yet! :rofl:

Thanks for all of your generous offers and suggestions. fishingpol, I would love to have a hand forged branding iron! Even if I don't have it in time to use on this project, it would be used on every one after that! :handshake:

And thanks again Scotty Overkill for your offer to draw one up for me. I love the FHC logo.

If you guys get too busy or change your mind I totally understand. Ill stay in touch with you about it.

Make sure you either use "organic" or "tactical" somewhere too. Maybe both. You'll sell more stuff than you can make.

It could make a nice hook for the end of the slogan: "It's organic!"
