That is their sledge hammer not the wood splitting maul. Still a good price.

I buy my wood already split, but as I have a very small stove, some splits need to be split smaller. I bought the isocore back in March and quite like it, even though it still is an 8 pound maul. Today I was splitting a couple of bigger blocks with the isocore and after a few bounces, I went back to the X27 of which I haven't used since I bought the isocore. Well it was like a whole different experience again, the X27 was so much easier and pleasurable to use and did almost as good a job as the bigger maul, with a lot less effort.

I will be keeping my X27 after all.

I like my Isocore but I split a load of spruce and maple today , the Mueller was the winner in the spruce with the Ochsencopf a close second , the Isocore was third and the GB would just stick in .
I had a few birch to split this summer , the Isocore was the best .

I am 68 and don't like swinging a maul anymore. For 30 years I split everything with a monster mall. Now I have a hydraulic log splitter. Much easier on this old body. But when we go camping I cut firewood and I have to split it by hand I didn't like the 8# maul I had so I asked for the iso for Christmas. Just got it, and that little rascal will do almost anything my 16 pound monster maul will do. Love it. Chief

We had one of those when I was a young teenager. My 100lb backside struggled with it but my 200lb older brother could swing it effectively.

I have been a small, 130 lbs all my life but with the right technique, even small guys can whield the monster maul. And it can do some serious work. I used to split tons of Hedge with it, that even my hydraulic splitter struggles with today. Many will disagree with me, but the old monster maul has been a "get er done" tool for me for many years. A lot of injuries and age is the only thing keeping me from using it to much today.
I once made a bet with a co-worker that I could split more wood in the same amount of time with my monster maul than he could split with his hydraulic wood splitter. He lost! But I was young then, and could go strong all day. Chief

I always wanted to try the monster maul can't get them in Canada which is dumb imo. And don't want to go through the trouble of crossing the border and 5 hours of driving to get one. My iso will do fine.

I like switching back and forth between the X27 and the ISO. When I think the X27 is better, I use the ISO and it changes my mind. Then when I think the ISO is better, I use the X27 and then I think it's better. It's like what's better, apple pie or apple crisp?

I hear the x27 is good iso better for Karly bigger stuff and x27 for smaller straight grain. If I told my wife I want another axe she would be like:hair::faint::bug::picard:

Yes it will. Have had a monster maul for 40 years and this ISO is almost as good, and a lot lighter. Chief
