15 bucks to split a cord a farwood, sounds like a good deal Maybe if you loaned him your splitter he would do it for free, maybe not, maybe he wouldn't want to use it
Huh? Wait...what, no! I thought papadave was trying to sell facecords for $65 to raise money for milleo s UPS man to buy a clue...but then Eric VW , trying to contribute, ordered some inexpensive split firewood from Albuquerque but it ended up at Chvymn99 s vacation house in San Jose, so DNH was just gonna get a quote to ship it back to his house so his wascally wabbit can live under it...which milleo wanted to see for herself, so she gassed up the bike and headed west, but when after making too many lefts and U turns, ended up at papadave s house where the firewood guy said he saw a cougar? And Locust Post read some scripture and said Amen and Amen ...yeah, so we're good then, I'd go for it!
I'm not even sure where to start on this thread. Maybe we should just get back to posting pics of our stacked wood.... Wait... Ah chit.
Sounds like a great deal papadave , you better be on that like flys on stink! (and note to self, put firewood kid on Christmas list...)
Read some in Proverbs and Acts JW....Jehovah Witnesses.....do you get them on the right path do you ?
I'm a fan of Solomon. Can't say I've spent too much time in Acts. As in life, I'm a "buffet-style" kind of guy and pick the parts I like best (per Shakespeare: to thine own self be true). Some might classify me as a universal heretic as I don't follow any orthodoxy; like Thomas Jefferson, I confess "I am a sect unto myself". What I most enjoy about religious writings is not comparing how they differ, but instead seeing how they agree. What I like about JW is that they are always very pleasant and they let me talk about what I believe even if their goal is to win me to their point of view. My only regret is that I usually keep them so long, that they never come back! I even invite them to come back and talk in front of the stove and offer to make them hot cocoa, but I have a spotless record ... not one single repeat JW visitor!
I've read the whole Bible and some books numerous times. I'm not religious, I'm a born again Jesus follower.
Oh man, not me ... I love my visits with JW and anyone else willing to listen to my musings . I once had these two guys try to sell me a Kirby vacuum cleaner - I told them up front that I was not going to buy and that they were sent by the creator to entertain me - I enjoyed it immensely as I weaved my thoughts into every sales pitch they attempted - in the end there were no buyers on either side, yet I was quite pleased with the experience; they were happy to get back the free gift they gave me to entice me to let them in the door (how funny, they actually believed they were the spider ). That Jesus fellow is quite the enigma! Anyone who instructs to love one's enemy as one self, trashes the temple, hangs out with the untouchables, says there will always be poor, says to let the dead bury the dead and to be perfect as your father in heaven is perfect ... all while teaching in parables ... must be a difficult guy to follow!
This would mean He is puzzling or contradictory, He is neither. He is the Son of God and if you have a true relationship where in you are indwelt with the Holy Spirit the Bible is not just a good book it is the Living Word of God. Relationship means a two way communication, pray (talk), read (listen). I would suggest you read some more and maybe get a good Bible commentary. MacArthurs commentary is a good one. I believe you would love to try to go back and forth and poke some fun but I refuse to do that. Or so it seems to me, truly sorry if I read you wrong. I will help anyone, in anyway I can and I try to be a good FHC member.
My brother inlaw came up this weekend with his teenage son. I was showing him the wood piles and such and he asked how the splitter worked. I fired it up and gave him a quick demo and for the next three hours he ran that thing and stacked the wood because he thought it was fun. The kid worked hard for a city kid so slipped him 30 bucks for his efforts. I hope he comes up again real soon.
Well, he finally found his way back to my house.....with a fully loaded truck, and some hangin' off the tailgate. Not sure I've ever seen tires that squished. He said it was 3 "cords" (or a full cord to us). I started to help unload when 2 more guys popped outta' the truck and they all started throwin' firewood. Cool. I'll know for sure once I get it stacked. Just for proof...............
More I know more than one person unloading a truck or trailer sure goes a lot faster, I had some help a couple times.
