The hay is in the barn. Each stack is somewhere between 1.25 and 1.5 cords plus another cord at the house ready to burn. Last couple of years have only been about 4 -4.5 burned so I should be good for awhile.

Funny when people come over and say, "is that your wood". Well yes it is.

Good looking stacks! First time I've seen the fence posts inward like that, I'm trying to understand why. Less pressure maybe?

Those remind me a little of buttresses on a castle wall.
    Very nice.

I had the same question as MYIS, I haven't seen fence post leaning in before?

Makes sense as mine always lean out and cause problems....

Great design for building stacks. Almost looks like you got a pyramid base going on there.

Nice stacks. Do you drive your stakes at an angle or do you tie them in to the other end making them lean in? I like the concept of the leaning stake.

I drive them at an angle and then use mason twine at the halfway point and a few rows below the top to keep the posts tight. Gravity is funny. I want the posts to hold the wood down, not to support the weight of the wood. Really the posts are a backup for stacks that should otherwise stand on their own.

    Or maybe I'm nuts.

I think leaning in is a great idea! Unless ends are cribbed, there is a ton of pressure on the ends. That's one nice hoard!

It's also less work not to have to crib the ends. And the lean puts the stress at the bottom of the stakes where they enter the ground.
