Over the years when Dave starts burning, it isn't long until we do. Lowest we hit here was 42°, but the house was still warm. Wont be long! :dex:

Hmmmm darn it, haven't even brushed the flu yet. Thanks for the reminder. Today the temp will be 88f. with high humidity. Will burn 5+ year w.oak soon - some of it was punky.

I figured you'd be starting soon, bogydave. I just saw a post on a tree page I belong to on FB, there's some snow in places up in Montana already!!

I'm excited about fall coming, but hardly excited about firing up the IS anytime soon. I knew the northern folk would start getting some cool nights, Dave leads the way this year!

We'll get a few more mid 60°s days, but that will mean
it's clear skies & we'll be in the 30°s at night
    Frost anytime now.

Loosing 5:39 (5.65 ) minutes of daylight a day now
every 10 days another hour of darkness, go below 12 hrs on the 25th.

Been warmer than the norm so far this Fall,
    Pretty confident that'll change soon.

Hey, Jeffrey - you're almost an 'Indiana-ite' (South Bender?) We're in the northwest corner of Barry County. Lake Michigan must drop a lot of snow on you there?

I would have burned last night, if I had a stove installed. Gotta get that 30 installed, but there are still some preliminaries to do first (drywall and stuff in the wall). :headbang:

Love the low and slow burns except for the dirty glass. Can't get mine to burn as low and slow as a BK, but sufficient for my needs. Your post makes me excited about the upcoming burning season. Enjoy!

Yeah we actually go to South Bend to go grocery shopping usually.

I see you're quite I ways up there actually. Looks like you're far enough inland to miss most of the lake effect snow.

We do get a good chunk of snow but really it depends on how the lake effect bands set up. Allot of times it'll hit La Porte and South Bend. We always get some cold though when the winds come off the lake.

We are also getting close mid 40's over night. I only have to close a few windows for now

I'm betting no stove fires until into October this year but actually hope I'm wrong. I'm ready for some cool air!!!

    Yea
    The Catalytic stoves are impressive.

Let it burn out today, the house soaked up some heat & to be in the 60°s & sun tomorrow.
Should be OK for a couple days
Sunday, cooler with more rain .

Shoulder season last a few weeks here. Typically the last week of Sept. we're burning 24/7.
With the warming trend we've had , it may be longer this year :)
