I can wait, absolutely no hurry! Honestly the thought of it is unsettling.

We've had two mornings at 49 and this morning is 51, more hot weather coming in the week. We'll get some wood inside on Wednesday so if we want a fire we can have one, Sept. 15 we usually start burning.

Are you looking forward to it or are you getting done? We are in a cool stretch right now. It was 6 c last night so had another fire. Its likely going to happen again tonight. I could do with more summer since I know the big freeze is coming!

Yeah cutting in the heat is tough. We do it but dont like it much eh? I remember my last day of cutting last year was in November and there was a few inches of snow on the ground and a few degrees below freezing. I was cutting in pants, chaps and t shirt and I was still drenched.

I'm with you I haven't cleaned mine. It's been 2 seasons. But seemed like it got hot fast and I'm not about to clean it at 90F so it will wait till closer to a fire

My father in law from the gulf islands of coastal BC says the same thing. Of course they get 2 days a year of the stuff and its always unpleasantly wet and heavy. Seems like most members on FHC are in the east which makes it easier for a gtg. We need to work on our numbers here in the west although there are a number of us that are active on FHC both north and south of the border out this way but were spread out. I dont know why.... theres many people out here who heat with wood. FYI its 42 here and Im burning again tonight. I have some balsam fir and a few larch biscuits in the stove (stove top is 575). Im getting into a routine with the stove but the warmer weather seems to be returning again so the stove will go dark for a bit. Im ok with it.

Wow, that's crazy even to think about right now for me. I'm staring down at a summer tropical storm sitting a few hundred miles off my house, and your at 42 burning your stove.

Hope the storm misses you and that everyone in your area stays safe. Ill have to watch it on the news to see where it tracks.

Down to 41°f tonight, it's really starting to feel like fall. I noticed that the Aspen leaves are beginning to change up in the mountains...... We had about 15 minutes of rain this summer :loco: :crazy:crazy weather for sure.
