Buy them Savage, and thank us later---mine are 2 yrs old and I have not changed a file, or a chain (9 cord last yr)...you can literally feel the bite/edge being placed on the chain and you only need a few strokes per...

Backwoods Savage you can/will use in the field and sharpen the entire chain in less than 10 min-makes a world of difference and only an afficionado such as you will appreciate the "work smarter not harder" approach-No milk crate required:rofl: :dex::yes:

If memory serves it was about $37. I've only used it once. I had used the electric one before, but this one seems quicker and more accurate.

I had gotten mine from a Stihl dealer a few years back. Amazon is probably the easiest to buy from.

Definitely will be considering one of those. Looks like it might be easy on the hands and that is why I went to electric, because the hands just hurt too much when filing (or anything my wife suggests that I don't want to do). Last time I used the dremel, it started acting up so maybe instead of replacing it, I'll try one of those.

That's the way you want it. Just taking enough time to take a few minutes off your feet, then back to work. I only use a small saw now. Arthritis is so bad it is too painful to lift a saw of substance.

It cooled off today with temps in the high 70s and the humidity dropping to 50%. Going down to 57° overnight.

Dark out, finally cooled down outside to 64F. Wife thinks it is fall already. She closed up the house and is wrapped in a blanket. Inside temp is 77F. :hair:

I think you will find them very comfortable, especially in a vise/stump vise in the field but I usually just set them up in the bed of the truck or on a stump-also note the angle of the handles allows you to file at the optimal 30 degree pitch for Stihl chains without much effort---let us know what you think if you get one my friend

About the same here. Supposed to hit 80 again tomorrow. Haven't seen 80 for a few days now and love it!
