Nice Jon. I did some Jenga stacking myself today. Mine seemed to be heavier than yours though! Ugh! image.jpeg

Those fresh cut 2x12x14 were some heavy buggers!

So I was suppose to get more fencing up today. Started the day by sleeping in a little. Then borrowed trailer from neighbor and brought it to saw mill and left it so they could load it. Returned after about 1.5 hours of running some errands. Strapped the lumber down just before the rain came. Rained for a few minutes and went away. Perfect.

Took the full load home and unloaded it with a couple of helpers. Brought the trailer back to leave it overnight so they could load it again. (Will return sometime tomorrow for that load.)

When I got back from that I absolutely had to cut the grass! Almost got it done before I had to jump off the mower and run for the house. Down pour! This lasted for about 5 minutes or so.

We estimate the load of wood I posted is about 1/4 of the wood I have ordered for the barn. We are reviewing what I have not ordered yet.:picard:

And those 2x12 are 14' long.

Any concerns of the wood warping/ shrinking when the barn gets built? How much long will it sit before being put to use?

Yes. But we can only do what we can do. Had to get it ordered and get it here so it is ready to go when we are. It will be in the stacks for about four weeks. Should dry a good bit before I start building with it.

Sounds good. I used some rough cut pine for some walls in my shop area that was supposed to be pretty dry. I put them up and a few weeks later I had gaps between the boards. Being out a few weeks should help a bit.

ok rant warning, gas company is laying another line in right of way which is fine.. but 200k project has turned into 1.3 million because there is a bird sanctuary so excavators and feller buncher have to drive on rail road ties (no chemicals in there. ) OK I fine with that but why does 250 cord of fine firewood have to be chipped and left in place. :(:mad: Then these environmental geniuses require them to pull the stumps because stumps put arsenic in the ground? but they can dump stumps as fill for next farm over.. So they cleared 100 feet wide for 3 miles .. 1.5 of which through a beautiful sugar bush ran it thru a chipper as farmers watched with me I like the environment as much as anyone but it is so wasteful :headbang::headbang:

That's great news! Probably the best you could get really considering the circumstances.

    Happy birthday Chvymn99 !

Caffeine going down. I was ready to sleep in again, but don't need to start doing that on a regular basis. Can't wait to see the big truck get here today with the block and mortar for the barn foundation.

Great news (under the circumstances). Keep bending it but don't over do it.

A lot of environmental regs make no sense, they just make $$ for someone somehow.

It's that time of year with the mornings getting light noticeably later and cooler temps everyone finds it easy to sleep in!

Once I'm able to tear myself away from this damm computer, I'll head to the workshop project at the cottage. More sheeting of the wall behind the stove, painting, finish putting legs on the 30 and put into place. Hope to start building the french doors this weekend also.

Yep - first morning that I rode to work in total darkness - sky wasn't even lightening up on the horizon - no moon or stars (overcast). Yesterday I saw just a tinge of pink when I got to work. I hate riding in the dark, but since my commute is about the only time I've gotten to ride this year, I do what I must .
