We're about to get hit with a storm here, it just turned real dark out.

Heavy rains have arrived, fill that well.

It's been a week and we haven't seen a drop. Now they are saying nothing here until early next week.

I hope you get some meaning full rain.

In September 2005 we had so much ran it blew out 4 or five bridges in our small town.

These three pictures are of the bridge on the state road that got popped like a zit.

The guy that was heading over the bridge when it went needed the paper.

Glad you got some h20..... The storms stayed north for the most part here, we had rain 2 days ago and a short burst overnight. Gonna keep an eye on tropical storm hermine going through Florida now, expected to possibly hit nyc then will it go out to sea or into new England??

I think the storm will lose steam before it gets to NYC.

The ground soaked the rain up like a sponge and the trails had no sitting water on them early this morning.

How do you deal with the wet areas on the trail? Pune needless was it? I have a couple areas that need attention.....

Yes, we use pine needles on the low parts of the trail, they work well for two or three years then they turn to dirt, if that part of the trail needs more needles we do it with P/N again.

I still have the alerts active in my phone for SE Pa and a "special hurricane statement" was issued for the area. Mostly a rain event with some strong gusts, but those in a flooding area should take precautions. WeldrDave This will certainly affect you I suspect......

Yea, but I don't fear this like I do a good nor-easter! By the time it gets to us it'll be a breezy rain event. Ironically, here on the coast, a sustained nor-easter can do more damage because it usually lasts longer and even though we don't get full hurricane force winds, we do get those 75 to 90mph gusts and thats when the poop hits the fan! I have my house wired with a back up generator/welding machine so if we loose power, I'm good for a few days anyway. My welder will run 16 hrs on a tank and as long as I keep things to a minimum I get that no problem, I cook with gas and Grandma Fisher ;). Also, I live 7 blocks from the Delaware bay, "not" the ocean so we've "never had flooding here because it runs right off to the bay and were about 16 ft above sea level here. If we have/get flooding here, "most" of the southern half of the state will be under water :bug:.

Looks like we'll be dry for the holiday but rain shortly after. Also next Tuesday and Wednesday is supposed to return to hot. That we could do without. Much better these 60's and 70's. Love the 40's at night too.
