I have sheep so I am VERY good friends with my hunting buddies. When they mentioned it was a 2 mile trip from point A to Point B while running their coyote dogs I was more than willing to build a road across my land so they could get across easier. I don't hunt...and I don't have anything against those that do, and as a large landowner I feel they should have the right to do what that wish on my land. Its not my animals anyway, I just am always fussing with their back yard. But by doing this, we all get along. A few months ago I had a problem with a fox killing my chickens right on my front lawn, now...no fox.
Better not let my wife or daughter see this otherwise they'll never step outside after dark again. I spend a lot of time about 10 miles due northeast of Onaway. The nastiest critters I've seen here are skunks. I've heard what sounded like coyotes off to the west later at night more than once. The biggest nuisance around here are 8000 or so of those d*mn black squirrels that sit in the top of the trees and make screeching noises all day.
Around here all we have are black bears (of 5 piles of black bear scat on my property, I managed to step in 3 ), coyote, and a mountain lion. I've never seen the mountain lion though. There are plenty of skunk, raccoon, and possum around. I found a possum head last week and couldn't tell you where the body was or how it ended up being that way. I don't generally venture out at night and if I do, I check the area with a flashlight just to be sure. Funny how many eyes you'd see shinning in the dark! The tiny eyes are okay, it's those big ones I might be concerned about!
