It all started back in April. This is the first year the wife and I have been retired together. It was decided that we needed to get the things done to the "cave" that we had been putting off during our working years. Soooo, 1st project was to get rid of the 10x12 tin Tractor Supply storage shed that was falling apart. It got replaced with our home built 10x12 board and batten version (pict 1). While this was going on I lost my beloved partner "BEAR" so that made the project less enjoyable by a long shot. Next up, we replaced the wood siding, painting every 5 year drudgery with a total maintenance free exterior of aluminum soffits/facia and vinyl siding. I now no longer will get the enjoyment of crawling up and down ladders splattering stain and paint all over the exterior. This then led into rebuilding 3 porch decks and re-landscaping all of the flowerbeds surrounding the immediate area around the house. Although still a work in progress, we hope to be buttoned up, spic and span and done by the end of September. My bride has already been informed that come 2017 I have then also retired from the Honey Do project committee and will be FISHING, Shooting, and FISHING ALL SUMMER!!!!!!!!! .....as retirement was meant to be...................
REALLY nice transformation rottiman . I got volunteered to help reside my SisIL's place with vinyl, and we'd like to do the same here soon. You deserve to go fishing.
Excellent outcome, rottiman. You're good to go for many a year to come. I am not letting my wife see this thread.

I made the mistake today of telling my wife I found a piece of linoleum in the shop left over from the bathroom floor a couple years ago. Her reply was to add something else to the list. She wants me to make another box with the linoleum on the bottom for her Guinea fowl chicks. Pretty easy, but I can't even find the end of the list to add it. I suppose it could be added the the top.
The secret is to build up way more "ATTA BOYS" so that they cancel out the "AH CHITS" and keeps the list subdued...................
Nice job on the house. It always feels good when you get a project going and finished. Several of my proposed projects didn't get done this summer because as campinspecter always says "When you retire!"
Good job Rotti, nice place. Did you have the dog house sided too for your official honey do list expiration.
Nope, my superb (LOL) performance so far this summer has earned me enough "AttA Boy's" to cover off my exploits next summer, or so I have been told.........................
The siding is a great addition. It looked pretty good before but the upkeep must have been terrible. Nothing quite like finishing a project like that and standing back and saying damm, that looks really good!
