I hear ya about the getting old thing. Sometimes I wish I had enough money to call someone to fix everything. And why is it that A/Cs don't break on a 75° day with 35% humidity?

For me it would be because I don't have the AC turned on during that kind of weather

This is the kind of incompetence you get from from some kinds of contractors. I see this CRAP on a daily basis! A contractor took of advantage of a homeowner who knew no better and sold them a new compressor on a 28 year old AC unit. Then they put a disconnect on the unit and never even tightened the line voltage set screws up and this thing was running this way! I literally want to cuss some of the local guys out for this level of incompetence and taking advantage of people.

We don't need no stinking set screws.

I'm laying in my recliner recovering. I fell off the third rung of a six foot ladder and landed on my face and elbows. I can still see that dirt barn floor coming towards my face as I fell. My poor wife watched the whole thing. I have a bruised noise, a cut on my chin and my left elbow isn't working like it should. Ibuprofen seems to help a lot. :pain:

I have a good idea how you feel as I did a similar performance about 5 years ago.................Ladder work can be scary at times for sure.

I hate ladder work for that very reason. In a sense a dirt floor impact is better than one on concrete. Hope you feel better and heal up quickly.
