I was cleaning the inside of the stove when the wife mentioned we had a Fox on one of our wood stacks, after watching for five minutes I decided to grab the picture taker.
We never even gave it a thought but since you mentioned it, we will. Well Seasoned , the screen was off one window on that side so I slid it open so I could get a better picture, he looked at us for a bit and then he took off.

Fox make some interesting noises at times. They sometimes make sounds like a wild woods-woman is coming to get you.

Maybe the fox will eat the mice etc. that might be in your woodpiles. Around here, we keep our distance because the only ones that come into the yards are usually rabid.
If they be social around my house I will shoot to kill...Rabies is a serious thing around here and foxes are not social unless they are sick ....
I have seen foxes for years that would frequent yards and pets of the households and not a one of them ever exhibited signs or had rabies, distemper, or any other type of sickness. The fox would even cry out until the house cat would go out into the yard and meet it nose to nose; then the playing woould start! Just a 4-5 years ago, we had a mom and her three kits stop outside our bedroom window for a night or two every week or so. All that screeching during the night made for less sleep. Rabies sure is serious. Maybe in Maine there is an epidemic or something?
