About to get stuck and give a pint of blood. Nice day out today. When I'm out of here I'll be going to pick up some Amish lumber for the barn footer forms.

I remember the congregation building a church starting in 64. And yes, there was a mortgage burning celebration a few years later (68 or 69 I think)! Quite an achievement for such a small church.

Thanks.... Working on them. It was a full week before I saw them come back.

First time in 6 years... But when 4 birds died in 3 days... I knew something had moved in close by... But I'm going to protect my birds as best as I can. I've lost birds to dogs and a few that never showed back up. But never like this. I have them cage all the way around, but there was a couple of holes between the old and new portions. I'd let the birds roam after I get off and put them up at nightfall. But that wont be for a while.

Okay. So after I gave them a pint of my blood I went to my friend and bought enough Amish lumber for the footer forms and stakes. Also put a down payment on all the lumber for framing everything and strapping the roof. A little over 12,000 bd. ft. are now ordered. But that does not include lining the stall walls with tongue and groove 2" think boards. We haven't decided on that yet.

Then it was home to spread three loads of bank run gravel, a mix of mostly sand and stone throughout it. I am using this to build up the low sides/corners and level off the job site all the way around the outside. Soooo much nicer for the guys doing the foundation to have level and clean surface to work on. And for my brother and I who will be building the barn. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

After finishing that I unloaded the lumber and called it quits!

I am 2 for 2 on unfinished workbench projects. I started carving this semi-palmated plover back in 1996. The original beak was cross-grained and did not look good. I carved out the beak and glued in a new one. I also started making a brass leg for it, and never finished. This week I soldered the toes, and filed all the grooves in it. Tonight was touch up paint and calling it done.

Test fit to the driftwood base.

This is a resting position, so one leg is supposed to be up underneath. Half-closed eyes.

More tornado action tonight. Luckily it's not local. Ef3 hit Kokomo indiana tonight and smaller spawns are still popping off.

So, I had some fun. The blower in my furnace stopped blowing, making my air conditioning not cool the house.

It got to 87° today, with 72 dew point. Ugggggggggg. That's oppressive.

The good news is that I got the blower motor to work, so the AC chilled the house off. I had to direct wire the motor to house current. The control board on my Carrier furnace is fried. Black marks on it. The good news is that it's not heating season, and the house is down to 78 degrees after running 2 hours from 84 inside at the peak. The thermostat still controls the temp, but the blower is on 24/7 until I get a new board on it. Looks like it's a $250 board.

So that part sucks, but the AC works.

It's going to be hot and humid again tomorrow. The dogs appreciate the cool AC.
