    Hello

All this heat gets old fast and I am looking forward to the cold weather! :)

So does anyone have something different they want to try this year?

I have this Tangential Heat Scraper to scoop hot air off the stove and send it right up the stairway!

I hear it does work! Cannot wait to try it. :)

    What do you Have?

oh, heck.....just for the heck of it, I have to state that any non-UL approved modifications made to any pellet stove voids your warranty, voids the UL listing, and can put you in hot water if you ever have a fire. Hey, SOMEONE had to say it! :smoke:

Thanks for stating that. The device I have is UL approved and works quite well with wood stoves like the NC-30 where you can have the blower hang over the back side.

Your stove looks like it's been assimilated by the Borg there Don.

No non-approved stove mods here Don, the wife said if she found any, she was leaving and taking the Stove, or I was leaving and she was sleeping with the Stove, or something like that.. I'll never win. :picard:

That looks cool! Anxious to hear how it works.

Now you are splitting hairs. But I understand that is what the manufacturer would say, so you only purchase their OEM parts!

That is what the telephone company used to say.
"The telephone jack is not an approved telephone jack that the telephone company installs by only their qualified installer" They lost that battle!
The auto manufacturers also say "That is not a quality OEM part" They may still say it now but we do not listen and have many other choices!
I think you get my point.

Let's face it, Aftermarket pellet stove parts are already out and more are coming!

Harman is not the only one that sells parts for their stoves. Is there a difference in a P series distribution blower you get from Harman or the carbon copy aftermarket distribution blower that just became available last year right off the boat?

Is there a difference between the Surefire 512 or the Harman Surefire 512h besides the h and the higher price tag when you buy from Harman?

Okay, I'll bite, is there a website to see? I just Googled "Tangential Heat Scraper" and all I got were links to Rubbermaid high heat scrapers, rotary scrapers and Tetrapacks.

Can't wait to try it. :)
The word hearth comes out as stars (******) in the link.
    You know why. :)

Did you do anything different for this year?

Anytime hearth is next to .com here it gets asterisked out.......

Nope, Mine works so besides normal maintenance its all the same and should be good to go. I might add a few extra spares to the inventory box is about all. Splurge on a good ton of fuel maybe???

rarely will plugging a telephone into your jack cause a fire, and possibly kill everyone in the house either.....bad comparison, that one.

as for replacement parts, its not the same thing. You are suggesting items which can functionally modify a UL listed product, which invalidates the UL listing. What are the chances something could go wrong? Pretty small.....lets make it REALLY small, for the sake of argument....lets say its 1 in a million.....I dunno about you, but for me, that's too high of an odds to hurt or kill one of my loved ones!

Ourselves, we wont install parts we don't sell. I dont want to be liable for someone else's substitutions. We wont fix electrical issues in the home.....a hot neutral? Reversed polarity? No ground? Call an electrician, not my bag....I am not a licensed electrician, and I am not going to coach you on what to do.....my only advice: call someone who is licensed to do the work. Im on the fence now about even using used pipe. I know its expensive, but old pipe is a pain, since it leaks like mad (usually), and I dont wanna drive all over the place looking for that one pice you need to make it work....

    boy, I sure did digress!

BTW, Harman no longer makes the Surefire available. BUT, the unit was tested with that.......

I want to direct the heat a different direction, and a regular fan just doesn't do the job , so this could be an avenue to explore. Thanks for the info!
