The coating on the top of the bullet seems to be Bonded better. It sill chips off easier than the zombie 13 bullets but I do like the additional colors you can get. The blue looks cool. I set my 9mm dies up in the press and knocked out a few rounds this eve. 20160519_222917.jpg

What dies are you using? I use the seat/crimp combo die from hornady for 45. I've been told by others to separate these stages and the coating issues go away.

I am not having any coating removal issues while loading. It just seems that my nail chips it off if I try and if I don't flare the neck enough it can shave off the base. But I flared a bit more as I needed to anyway and don't see blue bits or anything . But the same process would not yield the same results with z13.

I am useing Lee 4 die set. I actually had the honedy set I guess like you had but I couldn't use the lee auto disk with it so I sold them on ebay to buy the lee set. Plus I like the factory crimp die from lee.

Thread resurrection! Just got done working up my first loads for the new deer gun (308 ruger american predator).
These will be target loads. 168gr Sierra match kings over various amounts of varget.
    Range trip tomorrow.

Next up is testing the 180gr nosler partition...the Bambi bullet. I've got varget, 4895, and 4064 for those.

Who else has been busy at the bench?

I haven't done much at the bench. But in the last few months I have made some 9mm Hardcast powdercoat. But not many.

I did stop by Cabelas to pic up two 333 round boxes I mail ordered since I saw them on the website. They had tons of 22 on the shelf, so I bought another box while there, and I did see some H110 so I bought a pound of it to load some 44 for deer. 36037.jpeg

Interested to see what that gun likes. Maybe we can work something out.

Just made my first powder order that hit the hazmat limit. Call me a panic buyer. Or prepared. Your choice. :makeitrain":emptywallet::makeitrain":emptywallet::ups:

Eta: Maybe this should be in the stocking up thread. Oops.

Here's the best group of the day. 100yd range was full so I shot at 50. Bullseye is exactly an inch. I'll get my mics on it shortly but it gonna be moa or slightly below. Keep in mind, I didn't zero these loads...just looking at group sizes here. 20160821_200044.jpg 20160821_200052.jpg 20160821_200101.jpg

2 other pics are 2nd best group, and a group of factory loaded match ammo with the same bullet used.
