    NortheastAl is Pp mean pic please? I have not figured out how to reference post a thread but in wood pile I started a thread titled the correct way to cut firewood... I chain log to front of tractor and cut rounds with it hip high.. no knee or back work needed.. it takes a little longer.. but it is easier:D

    when I split those big one they will be lifted on splitter with tractoor.. Kubota is my friend!

    Oh I remember when you came on the forum and stated you burned 15 cord of wood. Nightmare! But you got the new stove and like us, your wood consumption dropped drastically. Now I'll be curious what this winter will mean to you with new stove and drier wood. No doubt a lot colder than last winter so how much wood will you burn? Maybe 6 cord? We'll see.

    Now about that knee, sometimes it appears that you need to slow down or you are going to wreck that body! If I were in better shape, I'd take a vacation and come help with the firewood!

    Yup, that 15 cord was 90% 9 month stacked sugar maple (read wet) and last year the 4.5 cord was thirds pine popular and ash! much lower Btu wood but average 20% on MM... So I am happy guy with me Woodstock stove.. the Company is amazing and so is the product!

    I will post my usage.. now Dennis you have taught me a lot! I consider you a friend.. but in physical ailments you got me beat.. You and Judy are welcome anytime.. But I got to get a splitter that goes vertical first.. before you can split wood old green is horizontal only:bug: getting a new one it's on list..

    As for the knees I got a Dr's note from 20 years ago said I could do anything I want cause i couldn't damage them more... but I'm looking at some surgeries so I gotta get ahead... I never know how much time I got left on this beautiful planet (nobody does) I want to leave exhausted! But I want to make your next gtg we can rest after that!:yes:

    Great attitude Canadian border VT-I had one knee scoped years ago and it's been good as new, a dear friend had knee replacement and his attitude was "I want to wear this one out and get another"...and btw, vertical splitting is way over-rated :whistle::picard:

    I had to go back to see the "Pp" I had put in a post. It wasn't anything that I intentionally put there and have no idea why it had shown up. So, it really doesn't mean anything. Sorry for the delayed answer, but I just saw your post this morning.

    Those rounds split stacked out to 1.3 cord there were 8 before noodling.. pics in morning as its raining again.. reviewing the pics the 70 foot row single stack did not get into thread yet..:emb: it's there.. now to go look for 6mil pallet wrap..:D

    It sounds like a great idea to me! Here are pics from yesterday, temps. were in the 70's, still hot working in the sun! I got two truckloads of of two years on the ground Oak from a friends house. Good stuff, I split up all the big rounds, vertically of course, and some cherry rounds from next door. I starting to get in the mood as I'm starting see a few leaves here and there turning. DSCN1269.JPG DSCN1270.JPG
