We departed at 0245hrs this morning, will have breakfast in flagstaff, AZ and then 40 minutes south to the Fisher XL location.
I think there is only Three people on the planet who can say they own a XL, and A bicentennial edition Fishers that I know of… Coaly, you and I. He has a Coal bear and a Teddy also!!!
You are my new hero! A Fisher XL with the sun door!!! SUPER COOL! Throw away that grate, it is not even part of the stove! No Fisher ever had a grate except the coal bear that I know of. And I've seen may new off the showroom. What a Find!!! . You are now part of the elite Fisher gang!
Thank you sir! I-17 still has an accident so after an hour we turned around to go back to where the XL was picked up. We're having a late lunch and then rerouting NE.
200 miles to Abq, NM, will spend the night and enjoy an adult beverage. I asked how long the seller had the XL and he stated it was in the house when they bought it.
How big was the house? That thing will heat 3500 sqft easy! At any rate, Congrats man!!!!! Even if you do nothing but clean it up and look at it, you still saved it from an unknown demise, most likely the scrap yard! Not to mention it is one of the rarest Fishers out there. Mine will go in our home when we build in NH some day.
Last leg of this journey Abq to Amarillo 4 hour drive. My wife and I had a great breakfast at the Owl Cafe and on the road. I have a set of industrial castors so I'll build a cart and I'm glad I have a fork lift on hand at the shop.
