YOUR "NEW" PELLETS!....your new venture..... OPC bankruptcy....I could keep going. You haven't been here in months and obviously a lot had changed on your end.

I agree IHP, Its going to be a niche crowd for pellet sales with oil prices all looney!!

They also predicted a cold winter at the start of last season. But that bottom fell out quickly. Seems mother nature does as she pleases. I wouldn't bank on that one either.

Just a skid mark! Should come out in the wash................ :p

I'm trying to be nice to Ol Douglas. He's been through a lot the last few and might be a bit sensitive.

I nor anyone else can control Mother Nature....or the price of oil....but what I can do is supply a better than average wood pellet for customers who choose to burn ....the market is large enough that we feel there is enough demand for what we supply and can bring in those pellets, package them and have a loyal dealer base offer them to the public to make a business out of this....its not theory...its proven to work. Price is important, but quality and value are more important and that is what I am trying to provide. Not everyone will agree with me, but I'm not trying to be the lowest cost provider, I'm trying to fill a niche demand in the market that has proven to exsist. Don't need a harsh NE winter...I just need it to be normal and there is room for my products..

As far as the OPC bankruptcy....that is a fact...the mill has been auctioned off....as far as the future of the other mill and the wholesale division...I don't know what will happen there...I am no longer employed by the company and have moved on. As far as what I am offering now...I think I will let those pellets speak for themselves and let the market decide if they are good enough to make it....I believe they will ...and nicely at that.

Nothing personal will711....you get knocked down or have set backs in life...do you stay down or get up, dust yourself off and move on? .....I choose to move on....its pretty much as simple as that....but this time I am doing it under my rules...not someone else telling me how to do my job....I think my way will be better...but only time will tell on that.....and you are correct....alot has changed in the last few months...and I'm super excited about what the future is bringing....should be very positive...both for me and our industry.....thanks for asking

But at the moment your pellets are the new kid on the block. No brand recognition, no track record of quality, and still demanding top dollar.
Why would anyone choose your pellets over a known commodity like Vermont Wood, or a Cubex. What is your sales pitch to convince me to buy yours over those?

Sales pitch? Knowing doug, He probably has a good marketing strategy to get his foot in the door. I'm betting he'll use reference to his old offerings for a couple of them?

A good start would be to :makeitrain"and send some of us a few bags to help his chances.....

    Right Steve(slvrblkk )? :D

Well, for Steve anyway. He'll give them a good test for the gang.

Seeing I got nearly 2 years worth, I can throw some money around( :makeitrain" ) and go visit CTpellet come fall. Don't want Doug(Douglas Middleton) to think I'm free loadin!!!

Doug, how familiar are you with the new product line at this point? Can you compare and contrast the new product to the old, fiber and performance-wise? Okie Platinums vs. Northern Warmth Super Spruce and Okie DF vs. Northern Warmth DF? In the past, you have mentioned how various flavors of DF perform differently. What's your take on the new DF product vs. BM?

Here is the truth.....I worked very hard for 7.5 years with my pervious company to build trust and a good reputation with a good sized dealer base....because of that, when this switch was made, I know I have the respect and trust without much exception from those same dealers....and having the track record of how Upton could package product to use as an example of what they could expect...they felt comfortable enough to move forward with the new brand....you may or may not feel the same way and I guess only time will tell....I'm not putting a gun to anyone's head to force them to use our pellets...that is something you will do or not do....I have said this before, I'm not here to try and win over everyone...but the market is large enough that I feel we can win enough of the market share to make this work....that I am 100% convinced of....if you read a few reviews above, someone has seen the brands we are working with and have them listed. They are all well known pellets on the market and there are plenty of reviews on all of them...so it's not like I am bringing in something no one knows about....again I am going with pellets that I know will work...because they already have...so no guessing there.

I might be the only one here that has burned both. Although it has some years between them. I think the BM's would win but only slightly. BM will still be the cleanest pellet on this planet IMHO........

I doubt anyone will be able to tell the difference....they have all tested out very well....
That said BM are an extremely good pellet...was very proud to sell them...and great people there as well.

I tried to pass along what good I know about these. I really liked the Pinnacle DF's and the Eagle Valley SPF was a good softy IMHO. Had good luck with them in the past.

I will button my lip on the SYP as you know I'm not very fond of them(no matter who made em!!). Probably what put a thorn in our friendship. It was nothing personal. And I'll leave it at that!!

I do have to ask though, Why not try to keep the BM's in the lineup? We both know they were more than all that!! I might have bought some this season as I had a full years pellet money just burning a hole in my pocket. Surely wouldn't have to worry if a cold spell happened............
