We are having a heat wave. Temps up to 70 - might make 72 tomorrow. Hardly any wind so it is really nice. Spent the day logging lilac, salmon berry, Cotoneaster horizontalis (more like Monster Contoneaster) and mini holly trees out of Mom's yard today. campinspecter was working on willows. On the property behind Mom's, they came in and took down the tall fir and spruce trees. Now the willows stand out as being tall and noticeable.

Yep, been on fire bans for a while now, at least Clear Creek and Jefferson counties. Still pretty green up here, but the further East you go, the drier it gets.

Been there a few times as well.

It's older growth, but not what I'd call "old" growth.

There's a lot of Douglass firs there.

Beautiful area though. Are you heading east at all? John Day area is amazing of you have a chance, also Mt Hood, have a beer in timberline Lodge. Built in the CCC /WPA times under FDR.

Lol. I've still got my Suzuki. So I'm not bike less.

This is a great time to buy. 2017's being released, dealers wanting to clear inventory. There's plenty of time. Remember, I'm a Buyer for my profession.

    Or is there? IMG_20160818_173612680_HDR.jpg

Hmm. A BMW. Very nice bike.

Haven't been up to Mt Hood yet. We are staying at my sister's in Bend. My wife and I ditched the kids and went over to the Willamette for a nite at a B&B last night. I was impressed by the size of the fire scar in Santiem Pass from the huge fire 13 years ago. And you only see a tiny bit of it from that road.

We go home next Tuesday so going to Mt Hood is a possibility. I want to get to the Erickson Airplane Collection in Madras also.

Caffeine down. Yesterday I noticed all the downed trees I could see without going into the woods were gone. Some were near the main road and were the longest pulling or skidding for him. So I spoke with the logger yesterday (through text) and asked him how the job was coming along. He responded and said its all out. The chipper finished up late yesterday afternoon and is gone. :thumbs:One more load of saw timber logs to be loaded and taken next week. Then the equipment will be loaded up and taken away. :)

The underground duct work used a concrete plenum that failed (leaked) and therein lies the problem. It was cleaned up as best as could and a new concrete base poured into the plenum. The owner was notified but was not concerned about the potential health hazard risk....figures, as the building is rented to someone else. A publiuc building at that!
The leak in the AC system ended up being the new AC coil that was installed last fall (unused all winter of course) and then charged and recharged this summer. The owner did not call the company that installed the system last fall (I wonder why not?) The coil is now sitting at the shop of the company that installed it last fall; I think he will be sending it in for a warranty replacement.
Meanwhile, no AC for the employees and the public users of that facility!!!
