MS170 Winter use?

good day all. Just wondering if anybody has any experience running a non adjustable carb, like the 170 in the winter? Thanks

 

I am thinking we won't be cutting much if it's really cold. Thanks for the reply

 

I've ran mine ms170 in -5 to -10 F ran fine, I prefer cutting when it's 10-20 degrees out. Starts good, does smoke more on startup takes a few extra pulls to start.

 

Like any outdoor power equipment, its a little harder to start in the winter. I had no problem running my 180 in subzero temps.

 

I bent a cutter on my chain cutting frozen wood. Then I upgraded my b/c to 3/8lp .50.

 

Thanks for the input guys. We are going to be cutting a lot of smaller stuff this winter putting in a couple new trails this winter and the 170 is about half the weight of my father in laws 461. My 261 will more than handle anything the 170 can't

Mine live in the tool shed with the other saws. if you let one in the the rest will follow...

If things go as planned the basement will be filled with firewood to feed the new furnace

 

My saws like the warmth of my basement....... They get sad and lonely in the garage

 

The problem is what follows...miter saw, table saw...anarchy
