You wouldn't have been in the way. With the intense heat we had that day we were all exhausted. You'll be back out with us again soon I'm sure and be able make next year's pa gtg.

Amazing story and inspirationally written. I hope your path continues with such optimism. Your trials put life back into perspective for me. Thank you for sharing.

Brian, it is good to see you back on the forum and for sure still good to see you are improving. Funny that yesterday I almost sent you and email but sadly, then I got busy. Our son from PA has been here visiting so I know you realize what that is like. Then today, we were enjoying a meal at our neighbor's. You no doubt remember when you were here and our neighbor graciously let us use his golf cart so you could go in back especially to watch Shawn Curry make some lumber. Watching some folks drive around on that golf cart really made me remember us riding on it.

Keep on improving. Love Sue, your family and the Lord. I also agree you should perhaps give more thought to writing. You are good at it and you could bless many. Please tell the family we send our love.

Frankly, I've had one doctor tell me he is simply dumbfounded that I can still walk and talk at all, let alone string words together and communicate on even a basic level. The doctor who did my stents thinks I've had a truly "remarkable recovery" (his words) considering the situation I was in back in March.

Have I mentioned, God is good? ;-)

It's amazing what really facing death can do to your life and priorities.

Thanks. Good to "see" you Dennis. The golf cart was a real blessing. Sue sends her love to both of you.

Brian, I really enjoyed talking to you,Sue and Tim at Dennis's GTG sitting by the fire. Such a positive outlook goes a long way in the healing process!
When my wife was first diagnosed with breast cancer after the first initial shock we were both saying we can beat this.
Prayers for continued healing and say Hi to Sue and Tim for me. See you next year at Dennis's!!

    Gary

BrianK Wow, what can I say! I was thinking of you the other day when someone posted on an old thread of yours. Thank you so much for the update and yes, God is Good - kind, compassionate, merciful - we all can go on about how great he is. I am so glad to hear of his working in your life and your miracle recovery process. It always amazes me to hear of when doors close in one direction, how he opens doors in another direction. Again, thanks for sharing with us.

I don't know how I missed this thread originally, so please allow me to first apologize. Brian, I knew you were having some problems and you've been in my prayers, but I am speechless on what all you've had going on, and even more so at the miracle our God has bestowed upon you! As others have said, we're all here for you, I'll continue praying for you and your family! That testimonial was very moving, and I'm very glad you're continuing to improve!

Thanks Scotty! (If you have to dump some decent wood and can't fit any more in your backyard, I'm living at my parents' home in Hollidaysburg while Sue teaches third and fourth grade at St. Pats in Newry, so feel free to dump some there ;-) I'm finally building a rocket stove, with a ceramic fiber firebox and riser, so I'm still experimenting.)

As I've said to friends elsewhere:

Thanks all, sincerely, for your prayers, which are greatly appreciated.

This essay, though, isn’t so much a request for prayers as a request for people to take their current lives more seriously, less for granted, and prepare for real difficulties which directly lay ahead of us - by telling God now that we accept and offer up these inevitable near future crosses.

I’m really convinced we are on the cusp of serious problems, on an unseen scale, and we need to prepare ourselves as much as we are able, NOW, through prayer, fasting, and freely embracing our crosses.

I think I never would have gotten through this if I hadn't received a supernatural dose of joy and mirth, but I realize many are carrying impossible crosses without that benefit. God knows all and sees your sacrifices and hears your prayers.

If you need wood, I am sure some of the folks here will make that happen...I am not a wood hoarder, but I will donate some cash to the locals near you to fill your families stacks!

I'm never really comfortable when responding to these types of threads, they hit home and are tough.
It sounds like you're doing wonderfully Brian. You are in our thoughts and prayers, never doubt that.

Now, when are you gonna get back to Beta testing stoves? You're not off the hook buddy, get crack'in!
