It's 5 hours west of me, nope I didn't get it. I just called and its still available, problem is they can't help load it and I don't have anyone here that I can bring to help either. Could this be an XL? Has a large flue opening
I guess I need to go pick it up then. WeldrDave, do all the XL have a heat shield on the bottom? Looking for a way to positively ID this Fisher before driving after it. I'm not sure where the sellers measured from so that's not exact.
Yes and the doors are a "DEAD" away! the opening inside will "also" be arched vrs squared. It's an XL! It looks like it had a spark screen, if it's arched it's a true XL. Also, no other Fisher was made with a 10" pipe!!! If you need more thoughts on this lets call on Coaly he "IS" the GURU. But I'm 99.9999999% sure it is! And for a $175.00 Thats a "STEAL" I paid $500.00 for mine.
Ok, I called Thursday evening no answer, left a message. Will try again today, I can't leave until I get positive contact with the seller. UPDATE; I've verbally set up a pick up date of next Saturday with the seller. Now I need to figure how I'm going to load it.
Buy a case Cold beer when you get there and invite a lot of neighbors! It weighs in at 545lbs! I'll give you an early "congratulations" ! It one of the rarest Fishers you can ever get!
No, they do not all have a shield on bottom and rear. Yes it is a "Sun Door" XL from Utah. It should have a chrome tag under the left rear leg with UT #................ Looks like original paint, but I've never seen an XL not brass or nickel plated. Inside of doors was plated as well, so it's easy to determine. I removed doors and bricks and moved mine with no problem. Keep it on wheels, like a 4 wheel furniture dolly and lay it on its back to "walk" up planks into truck or trailer or to navigate steps. My 120 lb. wife and I at 160 # moved the Kitchen Queen onto a trailer in MD and placed it in our house and it weighs twice that much! Wheels and rollers. Don't be in a hurry. One guy delivered a bunch of these stoves everyday day at most dealers with a cart. Let me know if you need exact measurements. The ash fender pulls off the front with pins and in the picture it is not pushed tightly into place.
So the plan is my bride will drive with the truck to Abq, NM and pick me up after work Friday evening. We'll drive the 5 ish hours to the Fisher location and load Saturday . Might stay at my shack in Abq overnight and then back to Amarillo, TX Sunday.
Ok, I have a set of aluminum ramps, a come a long that's made in the USA and many pieces of 2" pvc pipe. My first plan is to winch the stove into the truck bed on the pvc pipe. This isn't the truck we're using for the trip.
Negative contact from the seller today , we were suppose to finalize the pickup plans. At 1500 hr I'll probably have to cancel all my travel plans if i don't hear from him.
