Yesterday some of my friends came over and helped me install the shed kit that's been sitting in my garage for 7 months. They worked for beer and food We started at 9:30 am and finished around 8:30 pm. I found the shed kit at Lowes earlier this year for $249 bucks on sale normally it's $599 it's 10' *14' and is 8ft barn roof. It was the worst experience I have ever had building something but the metal shed turned out strong and nice looking aside from a bent panel on the front above the door. ( I may have gotten a little right there. The trick was a perfectly level solid base if we hadn't done that there was no way it would have gone up. I built the base about a week before we installed the shed on it. I am going to add some 2*6 rafters for snow support though it is sturdy but we can get dumped on here.
Pete, that's a great deal, and a great build. Very nice job on the base. I like the idea of supporting the roof.
I just figured he was putting that up for extra pallet storage and to keep the pallets out of the rain..
You could put 6-7 cords in there easily. If I could get my hands on one of them that cheap I'd fill it with more kiln dried oak ends.
I've already mentally planned out how to do that. I looked at sheds like that when I first bought the kiln dried ends and tried to figure out how to build a bin inside the shed to take the weight off the walls. Shouldn't be too difficult, but since I got the great deal on cut and split cherry I'm not planning on buying any more loads of the kiln dried ends.
Good shed. I also would add support. Sort of an inner skeleton. My inlaws put one up and it was up 25 years after their passing.
They come in banged up from time to time at Lowes, Menards and Home Depot. Since then I have found two more for friends by calling every week on the delivery date for the sheds. Lowes told me what day they come in and they can't return a damaged shed kit so they go on massive clearance. If you call your's maybe they will tell you !
Interesting! I assume you had to buy the flooring materials as an extra? How much did the entire shed set you back? Ray
I paid 185 for the lumber but I had the stain and nails already. Shed was $249 7 bent panels free replacement but I paid shipping $39 Total was 473. Here is the current price by use at least. It goes up and down from 599 to 499 depending on the time of year. http://www.lowes.com/pd_274596-25-L...ed&pl=1¤tURL=?Ntt=arrow+shed&facetInfo=

Sounds like a great deal to me! Should require little if any maintenance.. What is the stain being used on? The panels are metal, no?
