This is what I use around the property lately. Bought it a few years ago, and love it. I made some stake sides for it, but don't use 'em.......they just get in the way while loading/unloading.
Bought this homemade heavy duty cart at a local farm/estate auction close to 30 years ago now.$25 if I remember....Before that was gonna build one,bought a few things like a 3/4" steel rod for axle,pair of new wheelbarrow tires (they cost more than the cart I believe).A few weeks later seen this at auction,abandoned my plans for building one immediately. Just replaced one of the 1 x 12 floor pieces some years later.I've been pretty rough with it but it sure does the job.Its gotta be close to 50 yrs old by now. Back tailgate slides out,replaced the original crumbling 1 x 12 with a scrap piece of 3/4 plyform from a jobsite dumpster in Aug 2011. Looked at those plastic or aluminum 'slow moving vehicle' triangles at local farm supply store,cheapest one they had was 9 bucks.No way would I pay that,so I grabbed a can of fluorescent orange from the shop & here is the result Most of the time I just slide a 4" strip of 3/4 plywood scrap in place of the full gate to keep stuff from sliding/bouncing out.The full gate is only used when I have a bunch of larger cut to length rounds or am hauling dirt/gravel/sand,rocks etc.. This setup has served me well for years,gets in so many tight narrow spots that full sized pickup cant go....Until I can afford a good used skidsteer loader with rubber tracks & grapple claw that is.....
I put the JD to and through it's paces today, Sadly…. It's not a wood cart, it's just to flimsy and I bent the S#!t out of the back gate after the first load of oak. …. Although, I hammered it back out and "almost" got it looking correct. I'm gonna put this thing aside and use it for some "EASIER" tasks. It's a really cute cart and the wifey really likes it so I'm not gonna beat the He!! out of it with Firewood.. Onto the next trek for an ATV cart.

My trailer in progress, started it 3 years ago and finally got around to getting it ready for blast and paint, Tuesday will have another top coat and deck boards are being stained and put on shortly after, boards are already in process. Removable sides, hide away ramps, and 3500 pound axle.
My Outback disapproves of your comment... 2 30" or so logs at 4.5' a piece, my guess is pushing an easy ton. I left the third for a separate trip as an extra hour and a couple gallons of gas is much cheaper than a new transmission. I posted some pics in the milling forum as these will be my first attempt once the weather cools.
I bought a Wallenstein Log Trailer a few months ago, and so far I like it. With my Kubota Tractor when I ran into something logging it would just cause the tractor to spin, but when I got my bulldozer...well...it doesn't spin; it just snaps chokers like they are nothing! So I needed something to get the logs up off the ground. It does more than just swing logs onto a trailer with a grapple however, it came with a dump body and backhoe, and because the grapple rotates 360 degrees, can take a post hole drill. It is pretty versatile. I have a farm so I build rock walls, move big round bales, and pick up heavy parts when wrenching. The "powerpack" was way to much money, but I bought it and with it I can hook it behind my SUV, my bulldozer or my tractor because it only needs a hitch and is powered by its own hydraulics.
Here I am in action, placing a rock for a retaining wall around a culvert. It has the dump body on, but not the backhoe. You will note too that it is attached to my Fransgard winch. This gives me 150 feet of steel cable to drag trees off the stump so I can load it onto the trailer. The factory option was a ROPE winch and only 50 feet of line; no good. the dump body only holds about a yard of gravel, but it is handy for shoring up wet spots in my logging roads and the backhoe works well at putting in culverts. (BTW: my powerpack had not yet arrived when this photo was taken)
I'm so small time. If it's not in the back of my duramax. It's in this. Handle flips around and my beautiful wife uses it for her landscaping.
Ha Ha! Me too. Got that same pull cart you have plus my old dump cart posted a page or so back. Many trips make big stacks!
I bought a new utility trailer about a year and a half ago.. Built some cheap sides for it out of wood that comes on fiberglass truck toppers at work when they get shipped. Well, ive recently become tired of hauling around an 18' trailer to move a rick of wood, so i picked up a 12' trailer. Selling the 18'... probably will regret it, kind of torn on what to do at the moment with it. Here is the 12 footer i picked up off of facebook recently..
