Today is just a lazy day for me. A nice 70 miles bike ride out to relax and a club picnic for my tropical fish club at the other end. I may even start home before dark and get to enjoy another nice ride in the country. Getting lost off the main roads is really one of the pleasures in a ride and I always have my TomTom to get me home.
Still too hot to work on the wood. But working up some ground and then packing it. Taking a break right now then will work up some more ground. Not 100% certain what I'll be planting in the next week or two but much will depend upon mother nature. Still can use more rain.
You can have our rain. Here in southwest VA, we've had so much this past couple of weeks even fish are drowning
Another "rainy day" promised for today by the weather man all week long, not a drop & blue sky's all day. Glad I watered the garden last night
Got the trailer unloaded and stacked. Spent 4 hours wrenching on the car. Going out tonight with an old school friend!
I take it your an avid biker? I enjoy cycling too and have for many, many years. Here in PA we have lots of hills though.
So plans A and B didn't happen today. My BIL needed the truck, and tree service was a no show again. This one was a little further down the backlog. Black Locust widowmaker that's been hung up for at least 2 years now. It snapped free last year but it got cantilevered in another locust and didnt make it all the way to the ground. It put up a heck of a fight. I pulled it down with a come-a-long, but I had to tug on it three more times after that before it was out of the other tree. I wanted to tip the log over too but its got an unfavorable lean and I want a rope in it. Called it a day after about an hour and a half of failed attempts when I took the throw weight on the chin.
Nope that's the part that's down. I meant, the trunk in the 3rd pic, foreground right. Its dead and I wanted to drop that too, but couldn't manage to get my rope up into that crotch. (Edited my previous comment for clarity)
Didn't have it with me - I need to get a bicycle pump so I can take more than one shot with it too... No worries. I wasn't even hurt - beard broke its fall.
Ya need one of these, I've been using it a while now, works great Cordless Inflator, anyone have one of these | Firewood Hoarders Club
Definitely a rider. I average 3 times the miles on my bike each year compared to what I put on the cage. I am not sure about a "biker" since it means so many different things to different people.
