And the best kind of Friday - a pay day (get paid every two weeks here). Okay, it could be better if I got paid AND had the day off, but I'll take what I can get at this point.

Got up early and watered the new trees, raked the front yard (sycamore sure are messy) and cut my crawlspace opening wider before work. A one block opening is just too small for me to squeeze through. :)

Now I can get under the kitchen floor and insulate it.

I used a diamond blade on my circular saw. It cut like butter! Unfortunately I'm still tasting the concrete dust. :)

Nice job, and I hate running those saws too! Now to frame that opening out and install a operating window or something to allow air flow I bet.

Grabbed about half of a truck load of cutoffs yesterday and my saw needed a little attention before I could cut wood at "my" site. Try it again today on the way to the cottage. Then, switch gears and put on my electricians hat. Then tomorrow, pick up some venting and flashing for the stove install and probably start buying insulation. Just another couple of hats to wear.....

So is the stove and insulation meant for the cottage or is it for your garage? Any pics of your cottage?

I picked up a treated 2x8 to frame the wall opening today. Will work on it when I get back next week.

Dumpster dove at a construction site a while back and picked out enough blueboard insulation to insulate the joist ends. I call it recycling :)

By ends, do you mean where they connect to the Band? My dad calls it the "box."

Yeah... I'm an early morning guy.

Had safety glasses and ear protection, but I was kind of hungry so not having mask worked out ok. :)

Where the floor joist attach to the rim joist. Usually I use batt insulation because I usually have plenty but the blueboard (extruded poly) is even better...and the price was right. :)

We went to the local county Fair tonight. Fun stuff. Beer, corn dog, fried cheese curds, and funnel cake. Oh yeah, a great local cover band called the Toys. They were great.

At my day job waiting for a lift from the crane. I work in the roll shop of a steel mill in Cleveland. Keep buying cars and trucks guys/gals! Job security isn't a bad thing. Ha image.jpeg

A little cooler this a.m.. It has been "stinkin'" hot here. In the middle of making the entire exterior of the cave maintenance free. New alum soffits and facia, new vinyl siding. Was able to get about 50% of the soffit/facia done this week as well as refurbishing 3 porch/decks. Should be done by the third week of this month if all goes well. Still have 2 doors to change out as well. Time to get movin', everybody have a safe and great day....

Update: capacitor was smoked. Cooling like normal now! A huge shout out to my ac guy, King of comfort, in Indianapolis for fixing it Pronto and cheaper than I thought too.
