You need to get your self a junk or locked up saw to disassemble to get familiar with them. Get a rancher or something their built like pro saws with cylinder on case design. If it's a basket case you can't mess anything up. Sure there all a tad different but all very similar. That is if you want to be familiar with them more.

If we can't talk you into doing the job yourself Nate fordf150 and Carl millermodsaws are both Dolmar dealers/mechanics that could do the job for you. Both good guys in my book!

For the people looking for the HD rental saws. Hit up the HD website on the first Monday of the month. The tab is under the tool rental area. It says used tools for sale or something similar. Plug in your zip code and everything that's available that month pops up. Usually shows the stores within 50 miles.

Op, the translation here is its a bailey's brand or whatever Big Bore kit. Or larger piston and cylinder than factory size.

Not sure if is true but I have always year stay away form the BB kits. I'd go factory dolmar/makita 79cc if I was doing it.

In one of the videos I watched last night the tech was saying the aftermarket top end he was changing out was a better unit than the one being replaced by design. It created better compression and less wear on the new piston. But what do I know, this is all new to me...he could be full of it too

Word on the street is the oem parts are of higher quality and make just as much power as the big bore kit from baileys. Probably why Carl is sticking oem on the 6421 he has.

I mean if you get the AM BB kit real cheap, say CARL sold it for like $50 I would put it on and run it. But I think new the baileys kit is probably $120-150 well if you can buy the OEM kit for $200 that seems like a no brainer to me. I'd spend the extra on it.

I kinda figured oem parts are of higher quality but, can't hurt to ask questions :)
