While exploring the internet for drying firewood, I had seen something about a firewood kiln. Well, I'm all for getting my firewood as dry as possible so I clicked on the link which brought me here. It took several sittings before I made it all the way through the thread. But I didn't stop there, then I started reading the other threads pertaining to kiln drying firewood, and then on to the other threads to the point where I figured I might be able to contribute in some way since I do have a wide variety of interests, so I decided to join the crowd who had similar interests and I have been here ever since.

I generally come onto the site several times a day and mostly just read so I don't log in. I am appreciative of everything I've been able to learn and hope to learn even more. Unless I get tossed out on my rear!

One day I hope to be able to attend one or more of those Get Togethers and meet some of y'all. I promise, I won't bite! :hair: (unless y'all relegate me to girl duty and not let me do any firewood work :tears:)

They need a like button that will "Like all the posts" on a given thread! Like this one. I "Like" all the posts, just came in so late my finger would get a cramp liking them all.

Cell phone? I think that required a separate rescue crew in the am.

I know some body drove by me at about 6am in a vehicle. It woke me up. Surely the unidentified person noticed me on the dog bed. I figured they would pop a pic or 2.

Seriously, it was nice to have people check although we were just fine. Another reason to fhc. :)

Wasn't there a sandwich of sorts a few years back that was all the rage? Burger, Bacon, cheese (and other assorted condiments) all placed on a split grilled glazed donut (Krispy Kreme) instead of a hamburger bun? I know I had on over at a friends place. I could only eat one, but it was sure good!

Here's a picture of one using just glazed donuts. The second picture is one how I remember it. Google Krispy Kreme Burger for more examples. Add a beer and it's a meal fit for royalty!

I've snooped around some other sites, but none are as friendly as this site. Whether you need stove advice, tips on C/S/S, or need a prayer, you'll find it here. No attitudes, no judgments, no BS.
I've had the privilege to attend 2 GTG's and have met some of the nicest people on the planet. I consider all of them family. And some I consider brothers for life.
Yes, I'm proud to be a member of this fine site. And thankful of the ones that had the dream of putting it together.

    True Story!

I knew that we were gonna be a "different" forum. Even though we talk about the same things as several other forums. It is the people/friends/family that makes it different.

    This is one big family!

    FHC!!
