They obviously don't. CleanFire who joined Aug, 28, 2015 shows #2755...but member count shows at 2702 right now. Maybe that's why Scotty Overkill thought the member count was over 3000 yesterday (what happened to that thread anyways? ) Anyways, not trying to get off topic here...back to why we are on the best site on the 'net
Excellent way of saying it. I came along with the rest of them when Scotty broke off and started up the new place. We had a spot that was before this, then that moved I think for a better platform. With the no politics, and family rules here, this place is indeed a nice family gathering. As for the past, take a deep breath and let it go.

This thread is the perfect example of why this place is so great. Even though I've only ever met a couple of the folks here, so many of you are such good friends, it's like a big family. One can always ask for help or advice, whether it has to do with wood, stoves, pellets, gardening, hiking, fishing, or anything really, and there's always folks there to help and share experiences. And the jokes and laughs are never ending. Love this place. bocefus78 your dog looks just like mine!

I can safely say, I did not have a camera in my hands at 2:30 in the am.......don't know about the other guys I may or may not be at liberty to disclose the names of said rescue crew.....
I was a member "elsewhere" from '09. Towards the end, I noticed a vacuum where the cool "wood dorks"used to occupy space. Bye then I was pretty much done anyway, too many jackwagons to bother with. One day, while googleing the best methods to vacuum seal twinkies, FHC popped up. The rest is history. I'm proud to be a small part of it. You folks are the best I've run across, without actually driving a car.

I joined AS many many years ago for arborist info. Back then it was a great place to learn cutting edge climbing and arborist info. I lurked and didn't post much. I also lurked over at Darth some too, but much less because I didn't burn wood then. When I noticed that AS was getting more and more toxic I started hanging out there less and less. I eventually got the boot when the most of the saw builders left. If you want to know how AS treats it's members you can look me up over there and see that my avatar was changed to a pile of poo after banishment. Anyhoo a few years ago I installed my Drolet Austral and began burning wood, and found this fine forum. Like Eric I was actually looking for info on solar kilns as well. Another indicator of our BFAM status eh Eric VW ? I lurked here for awhile because I'm a pretty private person, and because of the taint of the atmosphere on the other sites. After awhile I could tell this place was way different than AS and the Darth. The GTG that Backwoods Savage hosted was my first. I met, worked with, and hung out with some fine individuals that I now consider Brothers forever! The rest as they say is history. I'm proud to be a part of such a great group of firewood horders! The internet has some mean people, there's definitely some over there on As. But, hay I don't want to start bashing the other forms
I agree not really lookin to bash either. Just calling a spade a spade really. It's hard not to point out other site's shortcomings when we have this great place here to hang out.
