I just googled Beer.... And it seems most threads around this place contain or mention that four letter word.... .... No actually, I just followed the herd to greener pastures.... Where like minded folks hang out.
Hmmm, I am not the pastry chef in the house but if ya want 'em grilled or smoked to enhance their sugary goodness I am gooder on that.
That's not true....we like Fords around here and since I always associate Chevys with dark side maybe you do belong over "there" Just kidding of course, the other place has some good people and good resources...it's just that FHC is just plain "gooder"
Ditto. I had the audacity to point someone in the direction of an ad blocking program and got slapped up along side the head for it. mattjm1017 sent me a PM and suggested I poke my head in here and have a look around. Didn't take long for me to come to the conclusion that FHC was a far more friendly place. I stopped in to that other place a few months later and saw the thread about folks disappearing over there. Geeeee I wonder why? BTW. Scotty Overkill, I just cracked open the jar of maple syrup you gave me in May.
I am not a wood cutter but I am married to one. There are a lot of good and interesting threads on here and being able to talk about other things that interest us is kind of neat. Haven't found too many quilters on this site yet. I will keep looking. Sounds like tree killer wasn't interested.
I found FHC while goobling "Solah Kilns," joined, and the rest, as they say, is history..... This site is filled with big hearted folks, a few Snarky ones, and some real characters All of whom I feel are like family, and definitely life long friends(ya's know who you are!). I've learned a lot about farwood that my dad never seemed to know (and that's ok, because the student/son has now become the teacher), bought an extra saw or two, and I typically spend more free time on here then anywhere else! This is a GREAT place Scotty Overkill You and the "others" you speak of had a vision, and it remains clear, and I appreciate you all for that! So, to emulate what Shawn Curry said- my name is Eric, and I'm a firewood hoarder! Go FHC!
Donuts?! You get donuts?! All I have ever seen around here is some really dry cookies! Solah Kilns?...I'd rather gooble some of schlots donuts!
I heard some rumblings of people getting banned over "there"... but that they could be now found on FHC...so I came a snoopin...and stayed ...my kind of peeps here!
myself, I tend to be a very private person. . leery of the Internet. .. but I was researching Woodstock Ideal Steel and found other sites and read every post.. this site seemed much less argumentative and informational and 10x more friendly. Still am thankful admins that allowed me to be a part of club.. Do my best to make sure they never regret it I have had privilege of meeting a bunch of hoarders in person and all never cease to amaze me..
Good thread, brother Shawn Curry. As yooperdave and several others stated, I and many others used to be on another forum. Of course I well remember Scotty Overkill and remember when the problems began betwixt him and the other forum. I was a little slow coming over here and considered just dropping forums after the experience of the other forum but finally decided to come onto this forum and have been somewhat of a regular since. btw, when I got the boot from the other forum, I had almost 28,000 posts. One of the best things is all the friends I've made on this forum and at the get togethers. Priceless indeed.
I don't how I found FHC, but after reading some posts, I registered. I don't post on many boards, but this is by far the most friendly group of people there is on the net. Every post I have made has been respected by a group of folks who like cutting wood, working outdoors, shooting and hunting, driving tractors and other toys, and having a drink or two on Saturday night-in other words, my kind of people.
