I appreciate you for expressing that; This FHC Group has probably the highest concentration of like-minded folks, and I'm glad everyday to meet up with y'all.:handshake:

Just keep up with the resting and takin' it easy!:pain:

I've been longing to run a saw myself, but I'll have to wait on my back to allow me to do that....

Seems like most of the people here feel the same way about things. When it comes to friends be it the ones you see every day or the ones you don't know other than by the internet , this place has a common bond.

I've been through the back thing. Fractured l4 and disks above and below squashed. It sucked then and 20 years later I still have my days. One of those learn how to live all over again. This hip thing just sucks. Not really in any pain but the muscle cramps are awful. Can't bear any weight can't bend over can't rotate basically can't do anything. And 28 staples are really comfortable not to mention they are itching and can't scratch.
Let's make a deal and get healed up. See who can get there first. You have a head start but I have a date set. October 18. Just have to see how pt goes after that. Luckily the wife is my pt and deals with it all the time.

Sorry to hear about the hip. Summer is really a bad time to be laid up when everyone is out having fun. Have you thought of researching your family tree on the internet? It is like a never ending detective story with a few surprises. If you are interested, pm me and I will help get you started. that is of course, you haven't already been sucked into the waters of the genealogy researcher.

My dad and the few left of his family did that a few years back. We all knew his father was French Canadian and came to northern Maine as a teen. The unknown was his mother. She came from Nova Scotia is all anymore knew about and she had no family. Turned out she's from England and her mother died early. Her father could not support them and the family was separated. She ended up being brought to Canada to work at a farm in trade for education a home and food. I guess 100 years has seen a lot of changes in the world.

So true. Sort of like preaching to the choir. For me, it reinforces my convictions and determination to pass these traits on to my grandchildren. In one way or another, we are a group of determined survivors.

campinspecter figures you had a narrow escape from my genealogy snare. I can only talk about it for a short time and his eyes glaze over. I hope you are able to find something of interest for your down time. Have you thought of taking a short on-line course? Genealogy? Quilting? Knitting? lol

Actually hoping next week to get back to work. Surgeon said after staples come out and they do some X-rays I can go back of everything looks good. Still have all the restrictions but at least I can get out of the house and sit at a desk. Not sure how much work I will have, half of my job is outside the office, but they tell me I'll be busy. It's been a decent place to work and it's a small place with only 8 full time employees but volume wise they are huge here. I'm keeping my fingers crossed all goes well Monday.

Shucks - I thought I would interest you in quilting. Just don't push it as recovery will take much longer.

I tried out my mothers sewing machine just once a long time ago. Epic fail and it was pricey for the repairs. I'm done with that stuff.
My wife is my keeper right now. Every move I make she criticizes. That's her everyday life being a pt.

Tree killer, Please allow me to put this in a perspective, "now that your here" you will understand. We "all" have something "GOOD" in our hearts and we are all here because of that good! Something to share, talk about, things in common with others and some not. Regardless, Most folks here care!!! About each other and we have a common goal is to help one another. I think that's what drives this place is the quality of people attracted by our passion, "and weirdness" :loco: , so my thought here is this;… Your part of the family because your here and you choose to be and was accepted with open arms, You too will do the same and it only get's better. A wise man, "my dad" once said, "even a blind man can see a glowing heart"!

    Dave.

Point well said. I've been on here for a couple years roughly but always too busy with life to actually read through a lot of the things on here. Since I came home last Tuesday all I've had is the Internet to keep me entertained. The more I read on here the more goodness of the people I see. Some people I've always said were big hearted people, I'm seeing more now that it's a large portion of you all.

I'd like to add is that we don't let our differences separate us because we are more focused on the good things we have in common...we're less worried about what we disagree on.

A big part of keeping FHC that way in my mind is not letting politics creep into the discussions.

    My two cents :)

Those kinds are all over the place. Until they get canned. That happened last week for 5 people at my work. All but 1 were necessary cuts, dead weight, bad attitudes, and no responsibility. 1 was a bad , unfortunate cut. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere they appreciate him.

There's one other person that should've been canned and wasn't, instead of the guy I mentioned. Different roles though, but if they were " right sizing" the $ probably offset. Company meeting tomorrow.
