Congrats on the new saw Brad! :saw::saw: 60cc class is my favorite for firewood'n.

I haven't had a chance to run one of these yet, but you guys almost got me talked into buying one! I'll have to bring my Mastermind 362c down there to compare. :)

Shawn I'll let you run it as much as you like brother!:handshake:

As far as going up against a ported ms362 that doesn't sound like a fair fight!:saw: I doubt this saw will be broken in by the time I see you. It should make for some fun though.

CoreyB how many tanks did it take for yours to break in?

I know you fellas like pics but videos are even gooder! Here it is in 15" dead ash:

I was pretty heavy handed with it. I'm pretty impressed for it being a brand new saw.

Those Dollies sound nice and the price is right.

Listening through headphones and such.... sounds lean at WOT?

I think it's just the video. It sounds like it four strokes pretty good in person. When I get a chance I'll put the tach on it and see where it's at.

I was seeing improvements well into 20 tanks. But I think I was tuned a bit rich and know I was still getting some blow by at 10 tanks.

    Great vid, B!
After not running ANY saws for nearly 2 months, I thought it sounded great, but I'm no expert, don't have a tach, and never modded anything:whistle:

I'm still liking it. It's going to be on a steady diet of cookies for a couple tanks. Good way to break a saw in btw.

I doubt I will mod the muffler for awhile. Maybe not at all. I've got some goodies coming in the mail.:ups: More saw pron to come soon.

Well the stuff that was supposed to come in the mail today didn't. Why? Because Post Office, go figure.

Anyway, I got out to the woods and put about 3 tanks through the 6100 today. I made mostly dry seasoned oak cookies today, and the saw felt stronger with each tank. Great saw so far!

So since I don't have any new pics for you gentlemen, I thought you might like a short video instead. Pardon the slight Blair Witch effect the cameraman/director was my 7 yo son:

I definitely wore the new off it today!:saw:

They'll make gooder kindling! It was a dry as a bone oak crotch that's for sure. Given all the dust it created the saw was surprisingly clean at the end of the day. With the air filter showing very clean! I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow of the carnage.

It's a runner for sure Corey! Solid saw and we'll worth the investment! I'm impressed. I worked it hard today, for a new saw, and it performed very well.

Well as promised the gory aftermath of several dozen cuts:
    20160730_125417.jpg

    And the air filter 20160730_125459.jpg

I'm pretty amazed at how clean this saw was after yesterday's work. It was almost cleaner than me! A couple minutes with a toothbrush and a little compressed air and it's clean again. Dolmar really put a lot of time into the design of this saw:

The maintenance is something I rarely hear mentioned in reviews about saws. We all do it and it takes time. Time we could be spending . I can tell right now this saw is going to save lots of time in the maintenance department simply because of ease of cleaning.

    Wait a minute what's this:
    20160730_132651.jpg

One thing I'm not crazy about between my 7910 and now this 6100 is Dolmar's idea of bucking spikes. I'm just not crazy about the look and function. Thanks to fordf150 I don't have to worry about that anymore. Thanks for doing what you do bud!:handshake:
    20160730_132328.jpg
I also really like the total light and tough bars. Solid upgrade that will last a long time!

Well there you have it gentlemen if your considering a 60cc saw don't sleep on the Dolmar 6100 from the other German saw maker.

Barcroftb keep me posted on your thoughts about those spikes, always want to hear of any issues or improvements that can be done, off center mounting holes are on the top of my "fix" list but i am just glad to be able to have these at the moment.

Nate I'll let you know what I think after a few more tanks with them on for sure. Looks like they will get the job done very well.

Ya I love how easy clean up is on the 6100. And that total bar is awesome!
Please keep us all posted on the spikes. I thought about adding them to my next order from Nate.

Corey some initial impressions of the spikes:

They are about twice as thick as the stock bucking spike. A great example of high quality manufacturing.

Being a more traditional 5 point design, I believe they are going to function more like what I'm used to.

I was having some trouble with the thicker bark on the oak I was cutting yesterday hanging my saw up. I believe these will be the ticket for trees like oak, hickory, and the mature hard maple that I often run into around me.

fordf150 is the only guy I know with the outer spike for the 6100, so get them while he has them!
