I think my saw has two bar nuts--is that standard on all models? I don't know what to say about the torx--I've seen up to a 20--and that's BIG...
No, some small saws have a tool-less adjuster (no wrench required) or a single bar but. Two nuts are better than one in this case. T-20 is small (.151"), they go up in size to a T-60 (.519"). A T-27 is the most common on saws.
I'm not sure when we started to talk tech but it remains I will have to have a hand-on consultation to keep me from confusion--seems that's the only way i'll be satisfied...
I've got the chest and I'm positive i'll have everything you'll be looking for-- if not I'm great at improvising
I gathered up a few screnches. I thought the prudent thing to do was to post a picture of them rather than commenting on rummaging through your drawers.
In the proper hands, tools can do magical things. I would classify a scrench as a tool of convenience, let me know if you need one.
I've never been certain of what size is best for me--one minute I think I want the big one then the next realize maybe something smaller would work better--how do I know?
With tools it is often how they feel in your hand. With a scrench you need to match it to the bar nuts on your saw.
In this case size does matter... If your scrench is too big you won't get a grip or will round off your nuts. If too small, it won't fit. What size you want?
I'm going to rush home and get my hands on that nut and find out -- if you have what I need i'll whisper it in your ear...
don't make me come down there for a tutorial on nuts and screnches--I'd be screaming by the time I got there (I'd much rather develop a scream under other circumstances)
