    Good thing there's beer!!

I wish mine was caused by meds. I'd have a chance to stop taken them for a reprieve if needed.

Jay, hope you can get your mind onto something else. I know you are worried. who wouldn't be. But the stress can kill you. Can you tie flies? Something like that can be productive, and keep your mind and hands occupied while not wearing you out. Plus it is something you can do with Joey.

Thanks for caring Larry. But I'm doing pretty good. Kind of already knew I had a good chance at having this. There are far worse things to get. I'll make do. Wife and son have my back and are taking good care of me too!!

Watching the Yankees-and flippin to the Eldora race. And beer tonight. ;) Don't have the patiance to tie flies. To get my mind off things I tear a reel apart and see what I can do to make it tick a bit better. Tore some of my old ones apart and cleaned them up. Listed them on ebay to help pay for the new ones I just bought. Got a few more to do and a few more parts to buy for the new ones to tick better, Then I'll sell of some old boat parts if I get bored.

Luckily work has been pretty mellow. Thats where I get frazzled.

Ive had MRI's in the past. Knee and shoulder. Crank the tunes is right buddy. I am not claustrophobic but that tube tested me for sure.

My PCP did say he would be sending me for an MRI if a few weeks of PT didnt clear things up. Good part is that the therapist is optimistic due to the fact that I can manage and lessen the pain by moving in certain ways. She thinks there's a good chance of righting this with the certain exercises and stretches. Hope so.

During the initial eval, therapist saw me stretching my neck opposite the pain side and told me not to do that. I need to stretch in the direction of the pain not away from it. She likened the possible bulge to a water balloon and you know what a water balloon does when stretched in the wrong direction...

Too bad for you guys that I have been in a non-drinking mode for the last 3+ months (except the one I had last Thursday and the one I had during a dinner cruise last month). Ah well, reality had to set in at some point

It took 6 months for my niece to be diagnosed with MS after she started having sudden onset issues with her vision, balance and other symptoms. They started off thinking it was an occular issue and then went on to looking at something else, and so on. Even after 6 months (maybe more - living 1600 miles away,, MS was a "working diagnosis" until they were proven wrong or came up with something better. She also was just relieved to have a diagnosis and a plan of dealing with it. She has been doing well on her meds.

Hope you get a diagnosis soon, regardless of what it is - so you can get on with figuring out how to improve things that can be improved, and deal with things that just have to dealt with.

Strokes, ugly things they are. You are lucky to have survived it. There may be residuals and other issues, but you have to fight to overcome it, and make adjustments. Number one enemy is stress. Hard to let go of some things, but it is survival.

Wow, what a change. I had a bunch of computer monitoring services installed from Iobit. 4 paid services that were all coming due for renewal. The combined cost a lot. I looked around and ended up loading PC Matic. Then uninstalled the other services. What a change. My search engine is much faster and no more hang up. I knew there were conflicts but I didn't know where or how to get rid of them. I hope it keeps the spyware and malware out. So far so good.

    Thanks bogi!

Gonna try real hard at not letting this change life too much. The last few years have been a tussle, But we've managed pretty well. I've been assured that once they figure out this and a med plan. I should lead a near normal and long life. Just might not be able to do everything I used too. Or as often as I'd like. But we will make do!!

Got what I think is the final result on the spinal today. There was no growth in the culture, So it looks like it isn't an infection of sorts. Should hopefully narrow the diagnosis down even more?

You got that right. A good friend of mine, who rode up to Moose camp with me every Oct. for at least 10 years, has Alzheimers. He's 72. He doesn't even know who I am anymore. Pretty sad.

    OHHHH YEAH BUDDY

    THE TUBE :bug:

After my series of small strokes back in Aug of 12 they wanted to do an MRI, ahhhh, noooooo.

Not gonna fix anything, and it was gonna really pile on the stress.

Kidney Doc was about 99% sure that the huge Azz tumor in my left kidney was what caused the small clots.

Be 4 years coming up in just a few weeks and nothing has popped up, or should I say "PLUGGED UP" since.

They put me on Plavix and BP meds, all of which produced horrible side effects.

Last August I took all the meds and tossed them in the trash.

It has taken a year now and I am still fighting some of the residual side effects of the drugs.

The danged phama crap will in many cases do more harm than good.

It took less than a month on the Plavix and I was really effed up.

Just take my little aspirin in the morning and call it good.

    Golden years my azz.

    Definitely sucks

Rained a bit last night and cooled off a lot.

Been a very cool July so far but the weather folks are saying its gonna get toasty by next week end.

    Ahh well.

Been gathering more goodies for my new computer.

Really don't need another computer but want to upgrade my equipment and get back to stuff thats only 4 years or so old (At least as far as the tech chronology goes)

My main machine is good, but is a socket 775 MB board with a E8400 CPU

Time to step up into the 115x series of Boards.

I want to get a system set up with a solid set of components running 64 bit OS and settle in for 3-4 years before I gotta fool with it again.

My rule is, "If it's working leave it alone"

The price on even used parts is a bit much for my tastes.

I can find MB's reasonable, but the good CPU's are still $$$$$$$

Hopefully that means it was a calm and relaxing walk - just what the doctor ordered.
