    Linked XJ,

    That's hardly a glowing endorsement.

What's your ad going to say, "quick buy this, It's a real POS".

I am on my first wheel on the Silvey 510, it has probably sharpened 200 chains and I expect to get several hundred more on a wheel. I imagine a wheel is $20.

Sheeeeesh! What the heck are ya doing with the thing? I couldn't break a cutter with a hammer and vise!! They are super strong, your supposed to just take a bit off the chain to sharpen the edge, not grind the chain down to another size chain!! ;)

    Ya like that? lol

its not a pile.. Its a good setup, its just not what i am after.
Hand cranking gets old, even with only doing 1 chain at a time.

I looked at those tools and considered buying one, too much money too many problems with the burrs, I prefer the Pferd filing guides :D, Granberg file n joint, and the northern tool grinder, to me these all have their place

It's all good you're not the only one, by a long shot, that didn't care for that sharpening system,

Get one of the timber tuff or northern grinders for around $100 you will be doing good in just a few chains.

Sure it's not as sharp as hand filing but if your actually cutting firewood and not cookies against a clock it won't matter that much.

Ditto, I always dream of a stihl grinder or having the time to hand file, but the cheapo grinder always cranks out my chains.

Both of those appear to be identical to the one I linked to; just painted a different color (and marked up a few dollars). Probably made in the same Chinese factory.

I think I paid like $89 or 99 and picked it up at northern. I know I think it was on sale plus I used a $20 coupon code.
