Felling Ash in the road, no escape

    I had no escape route, trees , under brush , a wire fence, and poison ivy right behind me, It was leaning back some too so ! I hooked up a rope and left a thick hinge and pulled it down , It went perfectly and right where I wanted it.
    Had to cut it high , dropped it right on the guard rail post :)
    Dead ash so , it made a big mess, being in the road I had to rake it all up good .

    Lil Echo took it down and cut most of it , 14" at the cut, got out the big guns for the last and stump.

    Being on a dead end, hopefully the county won't see that for many years and they probably won't. But that post will still last anyway even though it split.

    Sounds like you cut it the only way it could be done. Did you hitch up your horse to do the pulling?

    That guard rail post has been like that 22 years, someone ran into it a long time ago maybe the snow plow, I don't know.
    Just hooked the rope to the hitch on the Jeep

    Yeah, it's been there awhile , put it off because I knew I had to clean all the mess up. it was only 85 here today and 35% humidity, local weather guy said it might hit a hundred here in a couple of days
