Whit the remodel done I got the bug to build a new computer.

    I love the odd stuff.
Scared up this bad boy still new in the box for $80 (Half store price)

    Been gathering parts.

    So far I have
    Case
    Motherboard
    2 DVD drives
    Hard drive

    Still snooping for
    Video card
    Wifi card
    other goodies

Gonna build a 64 bit Linux box.

I hate the traditional rectangle shaped computers.

Gotta "Step Outta Da Box" ya know.

MOBO tray slides out the back after undoing two thumb screws.

Toss all the goodies in and let it rip. :rofl: :rofl:

I don't need a super screamer, so I pick up what was a few years ago was "Da Chit" ya know, and get the rest of it's life span.

No hot rod by 2016 standards but got hold of an ASUS maximus extreme with a Q9770 intel cpu

    8 gigs of DDR3 ram
    500 gig sata drive
Graphics card with 1 gig DDR3 ram onboard

Should be able to get the email and surf to FHC

Amazing how what was the real deal just a few years ago is now relegated to the back lot of ebay as junk.

Anyway, gonna be a fun little unit.

With the 64 bit OS and a bit of tweaking it will work sweet

I got ZORIN OS9 premium to load in.

    Great OS

I am currently running OS9 32 bit version.

A great OS I might add.

Looks and feels like WIN 7.

Yesterday I finally got the rest of my bathroom sheet-rocked (only 1 bathroom, so I gotta be in the mood to really get work done). I've been looking at studs (as in lumber, not guys) since last August when I tore everything out. There is a backstory, but suffice to say half the bathroom got the makeover in November and half has just sat there. Several weeks ago I cut out the rotted part of the subfloor and replaced that (holy cow - looking at my phone it was MAY, not just a couple of weeks ago) as well as replaced half the ceiling. So I had no excuses not to do the sheet-rocking - except I had to move a light box, move out a linen closet and unhook and move the old vanity. For 1 person that isn't that good at this stuff, I need a long day to get all that done.

So anyway, Saturday evening I got the bug and at least got the linen cabinet cleaned out and moved. Then Sunday I went to HD for the sheetrock and lumber I needed. See, I had to install studs so that the sheetrock ends had something to hang onto - my carpenter for the adjoining wall covered the stud and didn't bother to give me something to work with. I also had to install some supports for the light box and for the new medicine cabinet - those need to be centered with the vanity that will eventually go in there instead of using what is existing (36" vanity versus 30" that I currently have). Insulated the wals with the plumbing as the closet on the other side gets extremely cold in the winter.

The order of the pics is The bathroom flooring before, then after replacing that bad part. Then the bathroom short wall, then the vanity wall - last pic showing the new light fixture (all work done in that whole section was in the dark - literally)

Oh, I don't think that would have any trouble going down . . . but is there a windy after-effect?

    Yes, things are growing fast.

Weirdest thing, one of my honey's hosta was taken out (biggest one of course). I noticed it saterday morning and it looked like something sat on it. But when she checked further into it, something got it from below and pretty much uprooted the damm thing.

Last year most of the hosta became deer appetizer overnight. This year, deer repellant has kept them away but something got this one. Hopefully not the rest of them....
