I went back in so I could drop a small Maple that lost its top about a year ago, we only got six rounds out of it.

I've been unloading the rounds in a different splitting area this year so today was the day I split it all the Maple in the pictures.

I've been getting lazy this summer, I'll be doing some each day until I get caught up.

Tomorrow I plan on stacking that, we won't get two face cord but it's over one.

Thanks W.S., I'll have that stack tomorrow.

I have another big tree to finish but will need to build a dray so I can drag the rounds up the hill.

How are things coming on your end?

Snow average around 100 inches, about 60" +/-more than we're used to, and much colder. Temps will run about what you see typically I suspect

Thanks..... We've been planning this for 8 years, and finally pulled the trigger..... pulled some 10 year old wood from the old stack here, for the firepit:picard:just a pellet stove for this winter until I drive over to woodstock this spring. I WILL be getting my wood now sir!

So far, I've seen some maple, a ton of pine, and a lot of birch. I'm hoping to begin working on processing in the fall. We have an Englander pellet stove, that I'll need to research more.....

Before I started stacking I cleaned up the area (pic 0219) which gave us a load of Cherry I'll resplit an burn this year.

We still have some smaller stuff left that I split yesterday but I'll grab some other wood so I can finish off this stack.

My Sinuses were bad today so I did what I could and then said s_ _ _ w it.

Yes but it's only the second time since spring, I thought they would be worse because of all the pollen.

I'll need to figure out a stacking area. Do you keep your stacks within the forest or a cleared area in the yard? I'm looking for spots already. Need to put stacks in an area ok'd by the boss......

Ours are just inside the woods, the first year cutting everything was in our backyard which the wife didn't like so I did some clearing in certain areas of some smaller pine.

We have one area on the northside and the rest are on the east which gets great wind & sun.
