Got the call this morning that a fresh batch of 180 was ready for pickup. Only had time to get the first 60 today. Getting the other 120 tomorrow and getting to splittin.
Looks like these people could save some money if they ordered their lumber about 1.5' shorter...not that you would ever want to suggest that to them
My friend owns a sawmill service - I've never seen anything like this come out of his shop. He mainly saws 4x4, 6x6, etc but he always cuts the logs to length prior to sawing. I'm guessing these are a product of another procedure. You are a very lucky person to be getting these.
Looks like the mill got a request for beams shorter than their normal stock. I once got a pallet load of 4/4 walnut shorts (3-4 ft) from a mill. A customer requested "no knots." So the mill trimmed each board. The were going to burn them in their kiln. I turned them into cabinets like this.
In the PAcific ocean He wont tell, and loose out to all that? That makes me think of going back to wood rather than pellets. The I get back to my normal thinking "been there, done that, shoulder doesn't like it".
