Politicians are bad enough......but then you have to add the biased journalists. Haven't really figured out just which one has the stronger agenda to follow!
Both groups are rife with evil, and unfortunately have the "right" to exist in this great country of ours, but in no way account for why this country is so GREAT!
Thinking of those in France who lost their lives tonight and their loved ones. As for America, it's 2016, this aint your grandfather's America anymore! Not by a long shot. I know this thread was meant to be positive but it is what it is whether people want to admit it or not. There's no reason for me, at 39 with two young kids who I will eventually have to turn over to this immoral world, to reminisce about an America and a world that is no more. At the moment our current path as a nation and a culture is straight down the sh1@@er.
Agreed, on all points. My grandfather is probably rolling over, having served and survived in France in the early '40's as a forward scout..... And you're also right, although I'm not sure "immoral" fully covers it? Hand basket (nuclear hot flames blazin') , sadly, is the way it's going. Let's pray for our country and its folks, y'all!
Amen, my friend, glad to see some folks are starting to come to the realization of the path we are on. I have had "my nails trimmed back" a couple of times on this site for trying to get folks to wake up to the new reality. Nothing political, just plain reality, and last night was a prime example of it...........and yes, I pray with you for a better tomorrow.
My best friend was KIA on 7-29-12 What's great about America is how our small town came together and surrounded his parents and wife in support, and 4 years later continue to hold them up and support them. What else is great about America is having men willing to sacrifice themselves for others. It's one lesson I try to instill in my children.
Seeing the flags reminds me that for the majority of this month and June most of the American flags I've seen at banks, libraries post offices etc have been at half mast as I've been driving around going about my business. Just this morning the I was dropping the kids off at daycare and drove by a car dealership with a huge American flag out front flying at half mast and I thought to myself "when's the last time I saw that flag at full mast, I can't remember?" I know there's a lot of good left in the world but the bad is creeping and overwhelming. Each day is a struggle to do what we can to remain positive and optimistic.
So sorry about your friend genius. His service is not forgotten! My mother in law sent me this pic of baby piney at the beach today. This is definitely one reason why America is great!
Another really good FHC thread. This family here gets it. Even when we disagree. I find, as I get older, I'm really focused on family love. I can't change the world or this country... but I can shower my grandsons with love and try to teach them common sense values as they go along. I can choose to not let in all the bad, all the time, and instead exaggerate the positive. I can help them learn to think for themselves. And maybe, just maybe... they'll pass these attitudes to others they meet along the way. Who knows... it might catch on...
Amen brother. We can't change the world but we can certainly try to lead our little ones down the right path.
^^^ This x10!!! Believe what you want about "Political Reality" (an oxyMORON if I ever heard one!!!) - it's all BS. But that's not what makes America great. Making macreme chairs with my nephews on a family camping trip at the lake - now that's the stuff.
That Chair is Da' Bomb... Can you do a thread on how you went about this? Pretty Cool if I do say myself...
