They come in handy

This past weekend I replaced the rear brake master cylinder with a '13 one and dropped in a set of ebc hh pads w/ Motul RB600 fluid. Huge improvement in braking force. I'm a happy camper

 

Center stands are very handy. It's too bad more bikes don't have it at least as an option.

I've only had 1 bike that had a center stand, and it was very handy.

You can even use a center stand to raise the front of a bike if you rock it back so that the rear tire is on the ground. That's very handy if you are out in the boonies.

 

2015 Yamaha FZ-09 I bought brand new in Febuary. It replaced my R6. Mods so far are a fender eliminator, termignoni exhaust, flush mount turn signals, bar end mirror and an integrated tail light. I need to mod the suspension and get the Ecu flashed, but I'll wait till winter to do that. A little over 2k miles so far, love the torque and it's very fast getting up to speed. Wheelie machine too.

I'm eying up the new 2017 fz10. Yeah, it's a bit transformers like, but on paper it should be a beast. It's been available in other countries as the mt10, and people love it.

Logged 136 miles yesterday, it was a great day for a ride. Enjoyed most of the ride, except...
Found myself a little nervous at speed with stiff winds buffeting me some on the hiways,,not the 1st time since I started riding again. I don't recall being un-nerved in years past.
Of course it's been 16 years since owning my last bike and I was riding 4k or more miles a year back then, was even guilty of doing some goofy stuff on bikes back then.
Any advise or tips?

 

A small easy to remove quickly handle bar mounted windshield? Were you in fast traffic? Lots of dirty air?

 

I've thought about removing the small-ish windshield that's on the bike, to see if that helps with buffeting. Yeah, the traffic was pretty heavy, big trucks and sech, it wasn't interstate speeds, small 2 lane state roads, I was getting pushed at 60mph,,pop up rain showers here and there, and helmet kept the dust and sech at bay,,
Later found our way to a bigger 4 lane for several miles, felt great, and even tho' I'm definitely rusty,,I've felt pretty good tossing this bike around on back roads.
I've clocked about 700 miles and this is the 2nd time I've had my balls in a bunch..I guess more seat time will help me resolve some of these jitters in close heavy traffic.

 

2017 Yamaha FZ-10 - FIRST LOOK REVIEW

I don't like the 30 mpg at all.

 

I'm sure it gets a lot better than 30 mpg. That's probably the low end, and probably 40-45mpg at freeway slabbing.

 

I'd sure like too pull the trigger on a BMW s1000rr, or s1000xr..... Gotta see what happens with the place I work at, we're dependent on oil prices.

 

A little after work fun time for the shop guys. We headed to the Timonium Short Track races. What a hoot.

The owner of said clean machine is the shops part time detailer. He's fantastic @ what he does, real good guy too. The bike fits his personality to a T.

Attended a local "rally" this weekend. While sitting @ the inlet watching bikes roll in and out, I noticed a friend go past. Here's his Tuono. And I had to snap one of my bike. On the ride homeI ground a good 1/16-1/8th off the centerstand with my wife on the back. This bike handles like a dream.

Carbon fiber bst wheels. Those sure look nice, and don't weigh much.

I do worry about the durability concerns though. Having personally busted cf in stressed motorsports parts, I won't use it on chassis components. I'll use CF for non stressed parts, like bodywork though.
