We have never run any stoves on the 4th of July before. Got up this morning to a cool house. Tossed a fire in the little Whit Got this piccy
Here it is the 9th and It was barely 65 F in the house this morning. Another July fire. Had one yesterday for a few hours as well. Late in the afternoon the sun warmed the west side of the house just enough that the AC came on, ... ahhhh nooooooooooo, turned that off right quick. Good bet tomorrow will be a rewind of today. By mid/late week things are supposed to warm up again. We have been in this house since December of 1993 and we have never had a fire in July before. First week of June is normally it until Late September. A few years ago we had a spot fire in the first week of September after a batch of T storms rolled through and the next morning was cool and damp. Strange goings on. Maybe we will run the stoves off and on all summer.
This morning the house was a comfy 70 F when I crawled out at 6 so no fire this morning. Strange git go to summer. I remember back when I was a kid we had a summer that was cool and wet pretty much. Maybe this one will be one too. Last summer we fried out here in the PACNW
We've already got beach nuts and acorns falling here in this corner of CT. Signs of an early fall?? I can't ever remember beach nut's before mid August......... Yesterday was overcast and very enjoyable with temps in the low 70's. Got some much needed rain fall later in the day. Looks like today is also gonna be overcast. Windows open, A/C off and back to flannels for the Mrs....
Goofy weather. We had a lovely day/afternoon yesterday with puffy clouds and nice breeze (Actually stiff at times) but by early evening it was raining pretty good. Does not look like it's rained in a while though as the deck is fairly dry at the moment. Had to spend some time out in the horse paddocks yesterday messing around. The daughters gelding is a master of "HOOO DEEEEENI" We have tried several fence chargers and the current one is downright nasty, but he walks right through it. Sooooooooooo, I got an idea. We bought a bunch of that ORANGE construction safety fence stuff (4 foot x 100 foot rolls) and tied that stuff on the T POSTS inside the hot tape. Little Azz was in this morning Warm enough that the critters can be out until fall. Ah well, and the weather marches on. Just real happy that we got the roof replaced on the house back in May. No worries now about wet spots in the sheet rock Such is life
