I could see the sticker. You suck! The muffler, although filthy, did clean up pretty well with a little dawn. And shined up pretty easily with just a purple Scotch Brite pad. It seems to be a pretty high quality stainless steel.
Not to enable your CAD or anything buuuutttt... I wondered when I bought it if I really needed a saw this size anymore. I find myself making excuses to pick it up and use it.
I'll get a 6100 when you get a 7910! Pinky swear! Edit: I reserve the right to skip the 6100 and go straight for the 81cc saw based on the 6100 chassis my dealer teased.
I do almost all my mufflers like that. It's cheap and easy. Its the tin knocker in me. Unless the saw interferes.
I saw this thread and didn't realize it was old, I thought you got another one My 6421 is still stock but it's doing a job on this big oak I have out here. I'm thinking I should maybe I should rustle up a 24 or 28 inch bar n chain for it
No worries Clem. I expect a little ribbing from friends. I don't usually get to buy new stuff like that. I was fairly upset to buy a new saw and have it look like a used saw imediately. The touch up paint comment was a nice way of me saying I was expecting to be told to pound sand! I was astounded to be given an entirely new powerhead no questions asked! Although I do keep my equipment clean and well maintained, after 10ish full cord with it I could care less about a little missing paint. Heck most of the creamsickle was wore right off my old Stihls when I sold 'em.
Oh maybe I miss read it. I thought you said you were going to get a bottle of it...but you were expec5i.g them to tell you to get touch up paint! Haha Yea I would of been upset if the first use I had paint flaking off.
Yeah I could tell it would have flaked off the whole face of the case down to bare mag. In short order. The dealer agreed it was a paint issue and handed me a new powerhead no questions asked.
Anytime you're near the mitten you're welcome to stop by my place, and I'll take ya over there to meet they guy. He's a hoot! The kind of mom and pop shop you like to give your business too.
