When I get ready to stack that is what I have in mind. What I end up with is another story (nightmare).

Congratulations on the wood and her first birthday. My little boy had a monkey themed party that first year.
    Is she walking yet?

image.jpeg Well seems nobody been posting pics....I got the ms461 out to break down some big elm pieces, and of course hit metal with my brand new 25" bar and chain

So after seeing some more "objects" in the wood I got the ol trusty ms290 out.... She don't see much use except when I don't want to mess up my other saws lol.... I buried the 20" bar both bucking, and noodling and she never complained a bit.... As you can see some of the pieces were over 25"....

Well here is my next scrounge.... Finally got permission for this spot.... As you can see it has been logged, and there are a lot of tops.... I don't know how many trees they got but i only took a few pics, lots more... All good hardwood, a lot of red and white oak with ash and hickory scattered around.... Looks like this will be keeping me warm for a few years....

Always trying to keep some places lined up so I never have to worry about wee I can get wood!!!!

I know, sad isn't it..... I swear I almost feel it's my duty to not let wood go to waste.... It's pitiful, I like to burn and cut wood, but hate to see the waste!!!

That's just sloppy logging. And an innatentive forester if they even had one.

Well next time I go back to my black walnut spot I will take more pics, same type of thing... If you look back a few pages I have pics of it....

I am not a logger, but I would think ahead before falling trees like some of these companies.... I understand in a woods it's inevitable to hit something, but good lord!!!!

Sometimes that's the only "quality" people that they can find to run the equipment.

Unless you have no pulp wood market there that tree you last showed should never be left to lay in the woods.

Ya I tell ya I have thought before I wish I had extra time to mill, I just don't right now.... I agree with ya 100% these logs that are 20" diameter or bigger and solid, could surely be used...

That's another reason I bought the ms461.... I run into wood over 20 fairly frequently, and the knuckles of some of the trees are huge that these guys leave.... I just keep a sharp chain and whittle away till it's all gone and in my backyard!!!
