So, this is where I will post and dump pics of my favorite obsession. Been at it all week chopping my way through a pile of rounds. Where I stack my rounds is in the way if near future projects so I have a LOT of work to do. I will post current pics later when I get back in for the night. So far I have worked my way down to a couple bare pallets... only 8 or 10 more to go... awww crap forgot about that pile of elm and that pile of apple. Oh and three pallets of pear! Dang, my obsession has me surrounded by wood... LOVE IT. Still don't have a wood stove lmfao. Stay tuned for more!
Here is the pile of ash that I got in Dec. '15, hand split in one day. Same stuff that is stacked in the pics with the snow covered bikes behind my pallet fence.
I know I have posted this before, but this is my wood hauler and my go to saw. By the way, how many saws do you have to own before you are diagnosed with CAD? I am up to three.
Thank you, thank you! Nice to be back lol. Today I have been blasting my way through a pile of black cherry rounds. It was super hot out, but the smell of all those splits in the Sun was just too nice to quit. Love me some black cherry, mmmmm!
Cherry does smell nice with fresh splits and has a nice aroma when burning. Not the top of the BTU charts but gives some nice heat. I always have a plenty as there is a lot around and I've had a few winters that it was all I had.
Thankfully I have a good variety of species in my stacks now. Have a nice amount of locust, and TONS of ash. Also elm, maple, apple, pear, mulberry, and a wee bit of oak. Love me some wood!
Love your wood hauler and look forward to you posting pictures when you do get your stove and have the first fire ... with well seasoned firewood.
I'm right there with ya' Dave.....I was wishing for a little snow the other day so I could have a fire. So weird. It was really hot, so, there's that. Nice pics Dusky.
Sorry Gasifier, I'm gonna let him proceed with that statement. Working 12 hour days in this awful heat.... I would lay almost nekked in some snow right now!
