Had a belated father's day/fourth of July feast today. Lobsters right off the boat, 2 pecks of clams, ribs, steak, corn and assorted salads. Add in beer, and I can't move.

Attended nephews wedding Friday night, really nice event. Sister in law and her 8 yr. old flew in from Reno for the festivities and we are entertaining. Spent all day yesterday at the Bronx zoo which is pretty impressive. I've been designated driver for the wedding Fri., fireworks and kids festival Sat. , Zoo and dinner Sun. and I've gotta drive to Kennedy Airport this afternoon. Not much wine/beer getting consumed. Also no motorcycling :hair:. I may take a quick ride today, but my buds are doing a nice run that I can't do. Oh well next week.

    Enjoy the 4th everyone !!!!!!

Quiet day for us. Staying off the roads. Weather is beautiful. Will be going on a day trip later this week when the bulk of the traffic isn't a concern.

Had a wee fire this morning early to knock the chill out.

Had a client by a bit ago to finish up a few tag ends.

Staying off the roads and home where it is quiet and safe

Weather folks are calling for some much cooler and even wetter weather.

Good bet we are going to see some more fires this week.

Never can second guess the weather

Lotsa fireworks booming last night way into the witching hour.

During the day I took down 17 saplings (up to 20' tall) and 3 very old lilacs. Limbed them up and cut the trunks up to manageable lengths. Set the wood by the road in case anyone wants it (most is green, so probably not). Will take the tops to the dump today (if it is open), and the wood too if it is still here.

Last night I cleaned both stoves and performed LBT. Haven't started either of them for several weeks. And even when it has been 64* inside, I just put on more clothes because I know that it will be up in the high 70's in the house by evening. If I warmed up the house in the morning, it would get up in the 80's  so I just let it be..

Nice !! I still have to get to a summer cleaning-stove has been out for a few weeks here as well.

Stack the wood and have a nice bon fire in the fall when its wet out again-thats what we do here with the removed trees. :MM:

went to an outside wedding on friday night. Kathryn volunteered to be photographer so I was asked to tag along. Threatening T'storms for a 7PM wedding. bride showed up after 8PM to a downpour... Kathryn's son was the chef, grilled chicken and steak (he's a sous chef at the Marriot in Hartford) grills would not heat well in the rain, and one quit. I restarted it with a new tank, even though the old one was full? Steaks had to be done on the stove inside cause the chicken was filling the grill but came out good. but they are married and Kathryn was able to get the raindrops off of the pictures and lighten them.

Spent the rest of the weekend at the Farm in our RV. had a perfect view of the fireworks from our rear lounge chairs sunday night! Moved the Fairbanks on Saturday and built walls the rest of the time. hot and sweaty work, but very rewarding! a couple of pics. DSCN0269.jpg DSCN0271.jpg

And Kathryn provided lunch for the gang! much appreciated!

I haven't done mine either. Really don't know what excuse I want to use. I am sure there is a good one. I get new batteries for my electric mobility scooter later this week. That will make it easier to go up the slopes on the lawn. Very demanding to get that cart to pull this big old goat up a hill.

Could use some of that up here. I cut the lawn this past weekend-first time in 3 weeks and used the highest setting on the mower to keep it tall but neat. No rain so the lawn needs to stay long and greener. Luckily we are getting just enough to not be in drought conditions, still labeled as abnormally dry.

That is one showy tree. I looked them up. Not hardy here. My Dogwood is very showy this year. Nearly as tall as the house. I have had that bush for a long time. Wish I had planted it in a better spot. Never anticipated the big show. thanks for the pics.
