Well the GF was so proud of the stack she split up today that she said she wanted me to post a pic on my hoarders forum. So here it is. All her except for help with some of the bigger noodled half rounds. I was hand splitting and enjoyed it but didn't get as much done. The pic was taken about 2/3 in she did a bunch more.
I agree. Crazy big! I like a few of those here and there.. Tell your GF she did a great job and we appreciate the pics.
Same. I learned my lesson the previous year. 80% of my wood were massive splits. It was a mistake. I'd rather have splits that are too small than too big. Nearly impossible getting a full load with huge splits.
Nice. My wife would like those splits. She often complains that some of mine are too heavy for her to lift. When I leave I try to pull out some that she can handle without much fuss. So, how did you go about finding a woman that likes to split wood?
Keep 'em real cold for a winter or two. Your other half, no matter which gender it may be, becomes shockingly motivated when they associate splitting and stacking wood with comfort.
Ha ha! Not done with those. They are from a tree that fell in a storm in the yard over the summer. They will get run through the splitter here at some point.
Someone else must have done this because she liked splitting and stacking before I met her. She did say while looking at the stack fondly, that she liked the fact that it represented X number weeks of warmth.
I must admit that it is nice to come home to a warm comfortable home and know that you have helped made it that way. Although we don't get the cold weather that most of you do, the dampness gets in your bones. I also enjoy being able to have unlimited hot water seeing as our system is a wood water boiler.
Very cool FF! That is always awesome to find someone who enjoys the things you do. My wife loves to use the splitter just not in the cold...
