That was a cool family reunion. My Mom's family of 6 sisters and three brothers. Four of them, all sisters, are left. My Mom is the youngest, I think, at 82. Her older sister was there and walking around like she was 47 or something. She's 87! So all their kids and spouses, grand kids and spouses, great grand kids and ..... :rootintootin: There must have been 150+ of us there. I had cousins coming out of the wood work! Some I haven't seen in 10 or 15 years. Some I see in town at the store, or wherever, on a regular basis. They organized games for adults and kids. And lots of good food!

Now we are home and I'm in my ch...

Finished splitting and stacking the wood this morning before the reunion. My son came out and helped me. We are getting there, slow but sure. image.jpeg

Well thanks thewoodlands. I now have to take a break from wood processing for a few days and get the camp ready for a big sister and her whole family who will spend some time down there in July while they are home visiting. Between that, and some time at the paying job :picard:, I will be busy for a few days. LOL Then I'm taking a vacation for myself! And I will be processing some firewood during that week! (And I may drink a beer or two by the fire pit at night.)

First cup going down....:coffee: ... Second wonderful day of rain here... We've been blessed with a nice paced slow soaking rain, probably a couple inches so far... Plus highs in the 70's.... A nice break from the heat...

Ugggg to the flooding. Hopefully not seriously bad.

Off to church then back to watch the Austrian Grand Prix and stack some ash/elm at my house that I grabbed from the processing area late yesterday.

    Have a good one all!

Nope. Pouring rain. Looking like 3 inches plus coming in. Saws haven't left the truck and probably won't. :(

    I may just head home.

The dog did get to ride the atv though :) 20160702_185258.jpg

Alders are considered weeds here and quite quickly take over any ground left uncultivated. Excavator clearing is the only way to get rid of all the stumps which sprout zillions of new trees if the main tree is cut down and the stumps left. If you can get it cleared well enough to mow, consider planting grass and wildflowers and try to mow it several times a year. The deer will love it.

Well, an exciting weekend or rather last day of June. Took the day off to go down and look at a new car and Oh boy, we came back with a new one. Our 15th Toyota and this time the winter tires and rims from the old car fit the new one. Bonus! Love that new car smell. Much better than dog smell in the old one. Seat cover that I made for the back seat of the old one fits this one too. We will be good for a few years now before having to worry about heavy duty maintenance repairs.
