I came real close to buying a Nest, but decided a programmable Honeywell would do about the same thing for 1/4 of the price. There's been a few times in the summer I wish I could let it know I'd be coming home early from work, but not enough to justify the cost.

    Hi
I have the Iris by Lowe's with a T-Stat hooked up to a Quadrafire in the shed and another T-Stat hooked up to the Harman in the workshop but the new 230 VAC in wall AC unit has a nice infrared remote control but only works in the same room which does not make it very useful. I really want to turn on the AC on the way home from a job or in the house so the workshop will be cooler by the time I get there and Iris cannot do it!

Pic of new Iris Gen 2 workshop T-Stat for pellet heat. It took 1.5 hours to migrate from Gen 1 to Gen 2 the other day, what a PITA !!!
